Health Services Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise employees in the Health Services
department
- Oversee the day to day operations of the
department to ensure good service delivery and smooth operations in
accordance with the university policies and best practice in medical
services.
- Diagnosing and treatment of patients
- Carry out minor surgical procedures
- Advising and counseling of patients
- Handle referrals of Patients
- Organize regular health education forums for
the university community
- Follow up of the university’s, staff and
students insurance claims.
- Manage the health services department to
ensure the university gets value for money.
- Management of student insurance covers.
- Management of employee medical, life and Group
Accident insurance covers.
Educational Qualifications and
Professional Experience
- Undergraduate degree (preferably in business
or management) from an accredited university
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and surgery from
an accredited medical training institution
- Registered with the Clinical Officer Council
- At least 10 years working experience as a
clinical officer 5 of which should be in a management role.
- Experience managing a busy health services
center or hospital

Security Officer II - Closed Circuit
Television & Recording Devices
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence during investigations through
exhibits and video footage during disciplinary cases /hearing at the
university.
- Advising management where necessary (through
the Head of Security and the Head of Section ) on a wide range of
security-related events, specific to the organization and its various
operations which impact on the safety of university personnel/property
- Perform supervisory and shift duties under a
Head of Section.
- Perform any other duties as directed from time
to time.
Minimum Educational Qualifications
and Professional Experience
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice,
Police Science or any social science (OR a diploma in lieu of the above in
a security-related discipline or social science) from an accredited
university.
- K.C.S.E grade C+ (plus) or equivalent.
- Have served for a period of five (5) years in
the disciplined forces or held a supervisory role in (a) recognized
security firm(s).
- Those with training on CCTV have an added
advantage.

Security Officer II - Physical Security & Access Control
Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all exit and entry point to and
from the university are protected and there is a physical presence of
guards 24 hours
- Co-ordinate the functions of the contracted
security guards by supervision to ensure that they meet the university
expectation.
- Report all the daily occurrences for action
through the chain of command.
- Assist with the security training and
awareness to all contracted guards to conform to the university internal
security needs (done by carrying out routine lectures, compliance physical
checks of the guards their assignments).
- Monitoring movements of university equipment
into and out of campus by verifying gate passes.
- Conduct regular searches to unearth crime and
criminality. Enforcement of all rules/regulations/policies with which it
is charged.
- Monitor functionality of perimeter fence,
CCTV, Fire-fighting equipment and securing lighting system in the
university.
- Preventing and protection against hazards of
flooding by constantly checking on taps to turn off is left running.
- Ensure that only members of USIU community use
the university facilities unless otherwise as will be specified.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the
management /laws from time to time.
Minimum Educational Qualifications
and Professional Experience
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice,
Police Science or any social science (OR a diploma in lieu of the above in
a security-related discipline or social science) from an accredited
university.
- Kenya Certificate Secondary Education grade C+
(plus) or equivalent.
- Have served for a period of five (5) years in
the disciplined forces or held a supervisory role from recognized security
firms.

University Nurse
Key Responsibilities
- Observation of vital signs and giving
treatment at the triage room.
- Man the health center reception and receive
patients.
- Maintaining medical records.
- Observation and monitoring of patient
conditions as well as maintenance of records.
- Offering medical advice to patients.
- Assistance in surgical procedures.
- Sterilization and packaging of surgical
equipment.
- Referral (where necessary) of medical
emergencies.
- General housekeeping of the Health Center
(includes preparation of First Aid kits, pre-packaging of
drugs/pharmaceuticals and maintenance of hygiene).
- Assisting the Clinician in dispensing drugs
when needed.
- Assisting in the monthly stock take.
- Process and follow up on insurance and
hospital invoices
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned
by the Health Service Coordinator
Minimum Educational Qualifications
and Professional Experience
- Diploma in Community Health Nursing (KRCHN)
from an accredited medical institution.
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education grade
C (plain) or equivalent.
- Valid practicing license from the Nursing
Council of Kenya.
- Over 5 years working experience as a nurse in
a hospital/university clinic. Experience managing the reception of a busy
hospital, and processing of patient medical records will be an added advantage.

Research Analyst
Key Responsibilities
Performs programming and analysis
tasks using SPSS, Excel, Access, and other software as appropriate.
- Programs questionnaires in survey monkey and
other software.
- Collects data using a variety of methods
including but not limited to field data collection, Telephone
surveys and online surveys
- Coordinates field surveys
- Data cleaning and preparation of code books
- Prepares and labels SPSS data files for
analysis and reporting.
- Analyzes survey results data and any other
analysis as required
- Performs Data Mining from the data warehouse.
- Prepares summary report for institutional data
that supports institutional decision making
- Assists with drafting and editing of project
reports and methodological reports as assigned
- Acts as Project Coordinator for research
projects as assigned.
Prepares time lines for assigned
projects.
- Assists with budget preparation and budget
revisions for assigned projects.
- Maintains communication with client on survey
progress.
- Submits brief, written report on project
progress each week supervisor and reports on project progress, needs, and
plans at weekly project scan meeting.

- Monitors expenditures to ensure that projects
stay within budget.

- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or related
field that involves research design, implementation and analysis from an
accredited university.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in
institutional data analysis
- Proven track record in programming and data
analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
- Work experience in an educational environment.
