Profile Introduction: Our client, a leading manufacturer of concrete products that are sustainable and environmental friendly seeks to recruit a Human Resource Officer. 

Overall purpose of the role is to: Ensure the smooth operations and running of the human resource / administrative function within the factory to enable maximum productivity of employees in the factory while ensuring compliance with various legislative laws.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resource / Social Sciences;
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource;
  • IHRM membership would be added advantage;
  • 4 years’ experience as a HR officer in a factory setting;
  • Previous experience and broad understanding of employees health and safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies;
Job Specification
  • Assist in maintaining organizational work structure by updating job requirements & creation and maintenance of job descriptions for all positions;
  • Develop, recommend and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all employees in line with the company policies and procedures. As well as advice management on new approaches, policies/procedures to effect for continuous improvements to enable efficiency of the Human Resource function ;
  • Prepare and maintain employee handbook on various policies and procedures;
  • Assist in benefits administration on issues such as claims resolution, change reporting, approval of invoices for payment, re­evaluation of policies annually for cost-effectiveness, maintenance of information on activities program within the factory and cash flow management in liaison with the accounts department;
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation/ induction on training programs;
  • Develop, maintain and continuously update various departmental records and reports to facilitate decision making by management;
  • Assist in planning and participating in administrative staff meetings on a periodic basis;
  • Maintain and update the organization charts and acts as custodian of employee records/files to ensure that all employees have proper and complete documentation;
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding employees, as per Republic of Kenya Labour Law Acts and other relevant laws and regulations and continuously keep abreast with current developments or changes with relevant legislations;
  • Assist in monitoring employees performance through, in collaboration, with management in developing and maintaining a performance evaluation program that governs the compensation structure within the company and advice management as necessary;
  • Implement and conduct a vigorous recruitment and selection process for all employees as per company requirements through various media platforms;
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
