Summary: Our client is a leading commercial bank in Kenya looking to recruit a Human Resource Manager.

Job Purpose: To provide effective professional partnership with business units by institutionalising best Human Resource practices which will enhance Performance Management culture, staff productivity, resourcing and retention of quality human capital for the Bank.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Advisory to Senior Management.
  • Formulates and Review HR Plans, Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop HR Strategy in line with Business Strategy.
  • Develop and Implement Performance Management.
  • Develop appropriate Organisation Structure which will achieve business goals.
  • Conduct periodic Job Evaluation and Grading System.
  • Prepare and Review Job Descriptions and Specifications.
  • Develop and Review Staff productivity Indices
  • Prepare Human Resource Plans and forecast to meet business needs.
  • Rationalise Departmental Staffing appropriate Productivity Indices.
  • Recruit and provide staff to business units.
  • Approve advertisement indents and co-ordinate interviews.
  • Guide placement and deployment of staff.
  • Develop career and management schemes
  • Prepare the Banks Training Plan.
  • Conduct Training need Analysis.
  • Conduct skills utilisation audit.
  • Liaison with Training Providers.
  • Liaison with statutory authority
  • Ensure proper induction of new recruits.
  • Co-ordinate inhouse training programmes.
  • Conduct Training Impact Analysis
  • Oversight of payroll administration in liaison with Finance Department.
  • Manage the Performance Based Reward Scheme.
  • Design and implement welfare schemes (Health, Insurance).
  • Prepare payroll on time.
  • Ensure the HR database is maintained.
  • Manage Medical Aid Scheme.
  • Manage Staff Leave
  • Resolve employee complaints.
  • Attend to disciplinary cases.
  • Attend Industrial Court Cases.
  • Ensure collective bargaining agreements are adhered to.
  • Provide employee counseling.
  • Organise staff retreats
  • Prepare Departmental budget on time
  • Manage the staff costs well.
  • Manage the Departmental Assets well.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must have had a minimum of four years hands on experience in Human Resource in a large Organisation at an HR Officer grade.
  • A minimum of University Degree in relevant discipline.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of the Institute of Human Resource Management.
