National
Industrial Training Authority (NITA) is a State Corporation established under
the Industrial Training (Amendment) Act of 2011.
The
mandate of the Authority is to promote the highest standards in the quality and
efficiency of industrial training in Kenya and ensure an adequate supply of
properly trained manpower at all levels in the industry.
Applications
are hereby invited from a suitably qualified person to fill the following
vacancy in the Authority:-
Manager
ICT
Grade 12
Ref: HRA/ICT/01/2016
1 Post
Reporting to Director General, the jobholder will be responsible for policy direction on ICT systems use and advise on all ICT related issues; carry out systems design analysis, design and programme specification in liaison with users, develop implement and maintain system, ensure adherence to established ICT standards, develop mechanism and linkages for accessing modern technological information for application in the Authority.
The
job holder will also be responsible for:
- Advising
the Authority on all ICT related issues;
- Provision
of strategic direction, policy development, management and administration
of ICT initiatives;
- Ensuring
development, implementation, reviewing of ICT strategies;
- Liaising
with other heads of departments on ICT needs;
- Fostering
innovative and supporting ICT management systems;
- Identifying
ICT gaps and developing proposals to mobilize resources
- Ensuring
availability, security, confidentiality and integrity of information, ICT
systems and infrastructure.
- Developing
and initiating linkages with relevant institution on ICT related issues.
- Interpreting
all ICT regulations, policy and guidelines.
- Preparing
and presenting ICT work plans and budgets.
- Ensuring
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ICT policies and strategies
- Provide
reliable, secure and cost-effective LAN, WAN, Internet and communications
solutions for users
The successful candidate must have:
- A
Master’s degree in computer science / information communication technology
- Bachelor’s
degree in computer science / information communication technology
- At
least ten (10) years’ relevant work experience three (3) of which must be
in a Senior Management level;
- A
professional certificate in System administration, software development,
computer networking (CISCO Network Associate / Professional), MCSE, MCP,
MCSA or any other relevant IT professional qualification.
- Member
of a relevant professional body
- Attended
a leadership course lasting not less than six (6) weeks;
- Leadership
skills, high ethical standards and integrity;
- Good
interpersonal and communication skills;
- Meet
the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution on Leadership and
Integrity.
Manager Corporate Communication
Grade 12

1 Post
Reporting to Director General the job
holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the Corporate
Communication strategy for the Authority to ensure that communication is clear,
compelling and consistent across all channels to reinforce the Vision, Mission
and Objectives of the Authority, address publicity and coordination of National
and International events and promoting the corporate image of the Authority.
The job holder will also be responsible for:
- Advising the Authority on corporate
communication;
- Formulation of corporate communication
policies, strategies, programmes and planning.
- Liaison with National and International stakeholders
on corporate communication issues;
- Coordinating research and development on
emerging issues related to corporate communication
- Preparing corporate communication reports and
briefs
- Linking the Authority with stakeholders.
The successful candidate must have:
- A Master’s degree in Communication /
Journalism / Public Relations / International Relations or its equivalent
from a recognized Institution;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences;
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Communication /
Journalism / Public Relations / International Relations or its equivalent
from a recognized Institution;
- At least ten (10) years’ relevant work
experience three (3) of which must be in a Senior Management level;
- Member of a relevant professional body
- Attended a leadership course lasting not less
than six (6) weeks;
- Leadership skills, high ethical standards and
integrity;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the
