Assistant Maintenance Manager – Maasai Mara, Kenya
Our client, a barefoot luxury boutique hotel group is looking to recruit a assistant Maintenance Manager. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the maintenance manager to organize and supervise all of the operational maintenance activities that facilitate the smooth running of the lodge. 

The ideal MUST be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all maintenance at the lodge & maintain the highest standards.
  • Strive to deliver the best, personalized and courteous guest experience.
  • Drive recycling and waste management.
  • Ensure month end procedures are followed for the maintenance department.
  • Whenever necessary, source reliable suppliers and constantly strive to negotiate best prices.
  • Assisting group arrivals and departures, when required.
  • Support the lodge manager and assistant lodge manager with all HR related duties in your department.
  • Ensure all risk, safety and emergency procedures are maintained and followed always.
  • Assist with all staff transport at the property as well as to the local gate.
  • Conduct quarterly staff performance appraisals, and annual salary review.
  • Keep a PAR stock of spares to allow quick, efficient response and management of emergency & other repairs.
  • Purchase & maintenance of tools & other equipments in the maintenance department.
  • Assist in the maintenance & servicing of all standby generators.
  • Assist in the maintenance & servicing of the solar system.
  • Escalate any problems to management to be managed accordingly.
Qualifications;
  • Must have at least 2 years experience as an assistant maintenance manager.
  • Must be experienced in electrical, plumbing, sewage & water treatment systems, building and general maintenance.
  • Experience working in a remote area in the lodge/resort industry.
  • First aid training.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
  • Clean and valid driving license.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Excellent people, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Can cope under pressure and multi-task efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, written & spoken.
Monthly gross salary: Competitive depending on experience
