Job Vacancy: Programme Officer - Kisii Branch
 
The Association invites application for the position of a Programme Officer for its Branch in Kisii. 

The successful candidate will be based in Kisii and will report to the Branch Manager
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Programme design, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation at the Branch.
  • Fundraise through proposal writing to partners for programmes and projects that address the needs of women and girls in line with the YWCA’s Vision and Mission.
  • Maintain linkages with existing partners supporting the Branch programme focus areas through compilation and disseminating of progress reports and renewing of proposals to upscale existing programmes and projects.
  • Undertake research to inform programme design and implementation.
  • Develop reporting, monitoring and evaluation tools for specific projects.
  • Write reports and document best practices for dissemination to the programme stake holders such as the Executive Committee, Partners and Management team.
  • Develop training and IEC Materials based on the needs of the stakeholders.
  • Organize and carry out capacity building workshops and seminars for staff, volunteers and various stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies for recruitment and retention of young women within YWCA Programmes.
  • Undertake to fundraise for young women’s programmes that will build their leadership skills and promote their active participation in key decision making bodies of the Association.
  • Prepare Programme reports to the Branch Programmes Committee.
  • Maintain and update membership data base.
  • Represent the Branch in External Partnership and Stakeholders meeting as advised by the Management.
  • Undertake any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Branch Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
  • BA Sociology/ BA Community Development/ BA Social Sciences
  • 2 Years practical experience in working with women, young women and     communities
  • Computer Literate
  • Excellent proposal writing and resource mobilization skills
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Self Motivated/Honest/Reliable
  • Must be a Christian

Job Vacancy: Accountant - Kisii Branch

The Association invites application for the position of an Accountant for its Branch in Kisii. 

The successful candidate will be based in Kisii and will report to the Branch Manager.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • In-charge of the accounts department in the Branch
  • Timely reporting including project financial reports as well as management reports
  • Preparation of the payroll on a monthly basis
  • Create project accounts in the accounting system
  • Review cashbooks and cashbook reconciliations weekly.
  • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
  • Report on project profitability to management
  • Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion
  • Preparation of year-end schedules for corporate income tax returns and annual audit.
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
  • Preparation and processing of various journal entries related to general accounting.
  • Compile and review subsidiary ledgers and financial statements.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and controls in conjunction with the National Chief Accountant.
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Perform special projects as directed by the Branch Manager and the National Chief Accountant.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Finance/Accounts or an Advanced CPA
  • At least three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to apply accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of pastel will be an added advantage
