Community Mentor Mother Project Manager
2 Positions – Nairobi & Mombasa
Purpose: The goal of the Nilinde project is to improve the
welfare and protection of children affected by HIV and AIDS, by building the
capacity of households to provide for children and strengthening social
services systems and structures at the county and community levels to improve
care and support of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
Nilinde will achieve its goals by
increasing access to health and social services for OVC and their families;
strengthening the capacity of households and communities to protect and care
for OVC; and strengthening child welfare and protection systems at the national
level, and improving structures and services for effective responses in
targeted counties.
The Community Mentor Mother (CMM) Project Manager will be responsible for providing technical leadership to establish and scale-up the Mentor Mother Model at the community level within the USAID funded Nilinde OVC consortium, led by Plan, and providing technical guidance on the Nilinde CMM project implementation.
The Nairobi position will liaise with m2m’s Nairobi Regional Manager to facilitate coordination of CMM activities with Kenya Mentor Mother Program (KMMP) facilities in Nairobi County and capacity building of implementing partners responsible for scaling up the Community Mentor Mother Model within other areas of Nairobi County.
The Mombasa position will provide
technical capacity building of implementing partners responsible for scaling up
the community mentor mother model within Mombasa and Kilifi counties.
