Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kenya

CMMB has been in operation for 100 years and 12 years in Kenya in the field of health care, Health System Strengthening, HIV & AIDS (treatment, care and support), Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) among others.

CMMB partners with communities and individuals in need in Kenya as well as agencies and donors in a long term strategic way to address the leading causes of maternal and child death, disability and illness through Children and Mothers Partnerships (CHAMPS). 

CMMB is seeking to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to support the Kenya Program.
 
Job Purpose: Under the leadership of the Country Director, provide overall support for CMMB strategic information activities for all programs implemented in Kenya and act as link between the Strategic Information department in the US office and Kenyan Office.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement monitoring and evaluation systems and tools for the ongoing review of projects in the region, using approved indicators and targets, to measure progress and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure harmonization of Monitoring and Evaluation system and tools with the Ministry of Health and global monitoring and evaluation system and tools.
  • Work with project sites to introduce and implement Information Systems to ensure proper and accurate collection of performance data from the implementing projects including data capture, analysis, and utilization and archiving.
  • Build the capacity of the project teams and support them to effectively introduce and maintain the information systems. This includes conducting training and mentorship sessions and evaluation workshops.
  • Support regular data collection by ensuring all points of contact are clear on deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the reporting systems for preparing project reports as per the Donor and the government formats/requirements, including data audits and inquiries from the donor.
  • Prepare for presentation and distribution to stakeholders: data, lessons learned, best practices, and the statistical, qualitative, and anecdotal evidence provided by the site activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all members of staff, and contacts within and outside the region. Participate in M&E national working groups as directed by the Country Director.
  • Together with the program managers, facilitate/support CMMB staff in the revision of site-specific work plans and strategies.
  • As needed, work with program staff on new proposal M and E, including GANTT charts, selection of donor indicators, targets and methodologies.
  • Support implementation of baseline and other surveys, such as project reviews, and mid-term and end-of-project reviews.
  • Write a variety of documents and analytical reports, e.g. data summaries, workshop reports, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with CMMB headquarters via M&E Director and Country Coordinator to ensure programmatic compliance, in conjunction with M&E and Finance departments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Monitoring and Evaluation or Statistics or Social sciences or related field. Post graduate course in related field of focus is an added advantage.
  • Five Years’ Experience in Project management including implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Strong Program development including proposal writing.
  • Excellent communication, computer literacy and interpersonal skills, and Strong organizational skills
