Position Summary: Assist in the coordination of laboratory activities. 

Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in compliance and harmony with the quality management system.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of technical laboratory procedures according to medical center, laboratory and national standards to obtain patient specimens, to ensure specimens quality used to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Responsible for accurately completing records and reports and other statistical information for master files or databases.
  • Complies with laboratory safety procedures, possesses adequate knowledge of instrumentation, theory and application of new and existing tests
  • Maintains positive working relationship with the medical staff and hospital personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility to resolve problems. Performs required preventive maintenance process.
  • Carry out laboratory investigation to inpatient and outpatient clients.
  • Perform any other duties which may be required from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Must be registered under the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board (KMLTTB)
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a busy hospital set up
  • Good clinical laboratory practices/infection control certificate

Job Title: Pharmaceutical Technologist

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities;
  • Assist in labeling and filling prescriptions
  • Assist patients in dropping off and picking up prescriptions
  • Verify receipt of current drugs
  • Scheduling and maintaining workflow
  • Pre-package bulk medications and medication ordering
  • Ensure good stock control of drugs, prepare and maintaining medication inventories
  • Assisting in/out patients dispensing and effectively managing the dispensing of all drugs and other commodities
  • Effectively manage the dispensing of all drugs and other commodities
  • Assist in Pharmacovigilance
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly report to the management.
  • Perform any other duties which may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, Attributes and Other Requirements Specific to the Role
  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
  • At least two years relevant work experience
  • Valid registration license by the Pharmacy and Poison Board
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Offer nursing care to clients and attend to patients in the Outpatient Department, offer treatment in In Patient Department. Guide Home – Based Care providers and volunteers.
  • Ensure Anti Natal Clinic mothers are counseled and tested for HIV, ensure and conduct safe deliveries in the facility, adherence counseling to clients.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
  • Promote patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand condition, meditations and self care skills; answering questions.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health necessary adjustments, following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act and other governing agency regulations.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multi - disciplinary team strategies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infections and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Qualifications, Attributes and Other Requirements Specific to the Role
  • Diploma in Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized institution or its equivalent, Valid license from the Nursing council of Kenya
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience from a busy health unit.
  • Knowledge of current HIV Management/CCC experience will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Registered Clinical Officer (RCO)

  • Patient care and management at OPD/IPD;
  • Management of opportunistic infections;
  • Staging of HIV clients for ART and initiating clients on ART;
  • Managing complication of ART;
  • Provision of PMTCT services;
  • Providing monitoring to HIV-positive clients;
  • Ordering investigation and interpretation of results;
  • Keeping of complete and up to date clients records and Preparation of monthly reports
  • Facilitate CMEs in the facility;
  • Carrying out preventive health care of patients;
  • Ensure availability of required equipments and ensuring continuity in the supply of consumable in the clinic;
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as may be directed by supervisor.
Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes
  • Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery from KMTC or any other regonized institution
  • Registered by Kenya clinical officers council
  • Possession of valid practising lincence from Clinical officers Council
  • Training in any other HIV prevention intervention is an added advantage
  • At least 1 year experience in HIV programme area/CCC.
