Our client, an international NGO in quality reproductive health care and family planning wishes to recruit a Major Projects Manager to assist with the administration and day to day coordination of the project team. 

They will be a resource to the regional coordinators and other project staff, assisting in the smooth running of the project and achievement of its targets. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead on all aspects of project implementation, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Ensure all costs are correctly coded and work with others to address under and overspends
  • Together with the Donor Compliance Advisor, lead participatory budget forecasting sessions to
  • Monitor and proactively ensure adherence to workplans, budgets and targets
  • Engage at the central and county level to facilitate successful implementation of project activities
  • Support donor visits as required
  • Actively coordinate and participate in consortium meetings, during ASRH TWG meetings, internal TWGs meetings
  • Actively coordinate with partners of the consortium working with CIFF funds
  • Support relevant communication with consortium partners, the donor (CIFF) and others as required
  • Support engagement with national and county governments
  • Work closely with other ASRH partners to ensure better synergy and maximise on impact
  • Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making, by developing reports and tools that support frontline staff in their day-to-day decisions, and by working with senior managers to integrate MIS data into management processes.
  • MIS implementation support: Support all aspects of the implementation of new management information systems.
  • Develop and compile reports and make presentations on major project activities across the organization’s service delivery channels progress on a regular basis to the organization’s management team including relevant external reporting
  • Support the dissemination of ASRH focused routine program monitoring and results on various operational research across the organization’s service delivery channels and regions both internally and externally
  • Work with external evaluation team
Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor in relevant subject, Masters preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working in leading major, donor funded health projects in Kenya
  • Financially literate with experience managing multi million USD budgets
  • Experience managing participatory budget forecasting forecast exercises 
  • Able to solve problems and respond to crises with grace and creativity
  • Able to manage a heavy and fluctuating workload
  • Proven experience developing reports for donors and external audiences
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Strong I.T skills
  • Proven experience in community promotion
