Summary: Our client is a dynamic and bold Kenyan based high
end real estate property developer that specializes in creating property
developments that will push the envelope when it comes to design and where no
detail is too minute.
They are looking to fill the role of
a Finance Manager.
Job Purpose: The Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining
up to date books of accounts, financial and regulatory reporting and
maintaining and improving accounting systems and processes for the
Organisation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs project cost forecasts/budgets, cost
tracking, monitoring and controls for all on-going projects.
- Issues project cost reports for review and
approval by the Directors.
- Posts all transactions to the accounting
software on a daily basis. i.e. disbursements, payments made out, cash
received e.t.c.
- Reconciles the companies’ bank accounts on a
daily basis to ensure sufficient funds for the day-to-day financial
obligations of the Company.
- Administers petty cash and reconciles the
petty cash account regularly.
- Seeks approval and prepares payments for
suppliers through issuing of cheques, bank transfers e.t.c
- Prepares payroll and disburses salaries to
staff and issues pay slips on a monthly basis.
- Prepares and disseminates invoices to the
tenants in the various properties.
- Remits monthly statutory deductions on a
timely basis i.e. VAT, NSSF, NHIF, PAYE and Withholding Tax.
- Reconciles creditors and debtors accounts.
- Reviews and approves payment vouchers and
journal entries made by Accounts Clerks.
- Maintains accurate and up to date records of
all financial transactions.
- Maintains and updates the asset register
periodically in coordination with Administration.
- Prepares timely monthly-consolidated financial
statements, payments, cash-flow management reports for submission to the
Directors.
- Develops and maintains external relationships
with appropriate contacts e.g. Banks, KRA, Auditors
- Liaises with the external auditors annually on
end year audits.
- Conducts reviews and evaluations for
cost-reduction opportunities.
- Monitors and interprets cash flows and
predicts future trends.
- Designs and implements internal controls in
consultation with Directors.
- Oversees and the duties of the Accounts Clerks
and manages their performance.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (K)
Experience and Skills:
- Three (3) three years experience in a
Financial Management position in any industry
- Knowledge and experience in using Accounting
Software (E.g. Quick Books, Sage Pastel e.t.c)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly
in Microsoft Excel
