Our client would like to fill the position of a
 Business Accountantwho will be reporting to the Chief Accountant.

Job Purpose / Summary:
 The position is responsible for maintaining proper records for the business entities that exist under the Group. 

Working closely with the Chief Accountant, the position will be responsible for providing accurate and reliable Financial reports, and ensuring the integrity of financial data for the business entities under the group.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
Accounting & Financial Management
  • To monitor Financial transactions in the business accounts to ensure that they are posted correctly
  • To ensure that related party balances for the business accounts are reconciled promptly, and where there are discrepancies they are followed up promptly
  • To proactively identify areas of possible cost savings in the businesses under the Group
  • To forecast revenue for the businesses under the group
  • To monitor monthly performance of the businesses under the Group against budgets, and ensuring that deviations are highlighted on a timely basis for remedial action
  • To ensure compliance with taxation legislation
Reporting
  • To report to management regarding the finances of Group
  • To produce reliable and timely financial reports for the businesses to aid in decision making.
  • Assist by providing information for preparing budgets, business plans and financial statements.
  • Performing any other duties assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA (K)/ACCA certification.
  • 3 years working experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge in Business Budgeting, Accounting and Taxation as applicable to Kenyan businesses, Ledger Maintenance
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills in Excel and Modelling are desirable.
  • Practical experience using generic Accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Prior experience within the real estate sector will be an added advantage.
