Head of Finance Job in Kenya

A leading urban based Sacco in Kenya is seeking for a qualified, experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Head of Finance
 
Job Purpose: The Head of Finance will be responsible for the finance function of the Sacco as well as providing financial advice to the General Manager and the Board through identifying, planning and implementing financial interventions aimed at strengthening a fast growing Sacco.
 
Job Duties:
  •  Provide leadership in departmental plans, policies, procedure, strategies and action plans in keeping with Sacco mission and objectives
  • Ensure quality service delivery in operations, including compliance with approved project goals and objectives.
  • Identify and develop investments and financing options with a view of maximizing net returns to members.
  • Continuously review the internal controls and systems for efficient financial management
  • Ensure financial disbursement process are within approved financial guidelines and work plans
  • Facilitate preparation of the Sacco annual budget for Board approval
  • Provide professional advice on financial matters to the C.E.O and the Board
  • Management of members loans and advances in a timely manner
  • Ensuring timely management accounts and statutory reports are produced by specific dates
  • Implementation and maintenance of all computerized accounting systems
  • Continuously Identify appropriate solutions for potential financial problems by analyzing accounts data.
  • Prepare members reports, coordinate auditing of Sacco operations and maintain supporting documents and records
  • Inducting, coaching, training and motivating departmental Staff
  • Budget preparation ,monitoring and investment of Sacco funds
  • Prepare and analyze on a regular basis the Sacco’s business plans, budgetary estimates and provide explanations on variances.
  • Prepare regular reports on performance of the Sacco to the Board
  • Assist in all other areas of financial management as required from time to time by General Manager and the Board.

Minimum qualification and experience 
  • A minimum of a first degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Finance and a CPA (K). An MBA will be an added advantage
  • At least five years relevant experience in a large or medium sized organization.
  • Experience in project management and implementation of new products and services within a service oriented environment.
