Job Title: Credit Officer
(2 Positions)
Department: Credit
Job Summary: Reporting
to the Chief of Credit, the successful candidate will be responsible for
identification and appraisal of new projects in line with laid down policy
guidelines so as to maximize volumes, sustainability and profitability.
(S)he will also effectively manage an
assigned credit portfolio and undertake any other duties that may be assigned
from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specifically, the applicant will be
required to:-
- Market IDB’s products
- Identify new businesses for financing by IDB
- Carry out detailed appraisal of loan applications
and prepare appraisal reports for consideration and approval by management
- Ensure timely commitment and disbursement of
approved loans
- Ensure that loan recoveries are done on a
timely basis
- Regularly monitor approved projects.
- Prepare periodic reports on performance of the
portfolio.
- Foster and maintain business relationships
with clients, and other stakeholders
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Core Competencies and Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess
the following minimum qualifications:-
- At least three years working experience in the
Credit department of a reputable financial institution.
- Good understanding in preparation of loan
appraisal reports.
- Good assessment, analytical and report writing
skills
- Good inter personal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office packages
- High initiative and ability to work with
minimal supervision
- Result oriented
Qualifications:
- A degree in Business related field, Bachelor
of Commerce, Accounting option, Economics, Finance or other relevant field
- Relevant professional qualifications (CIFA,
CPA, ACCA,CCP )
