Job Purpose / Summary: Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. 

Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. 

Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for Sales Teams.

Key Roles:
  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the sales team 
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Conducts one-on-one review with all Account Executives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Executive’s sales and activity performance.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Teams.
  • Assists Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Assists with the recruitment and selection of the sales team based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.

Educational and Other Qualifications
  • Under graduate university/college degree in business administration or social sciences . A MBA is an added advantage
  • At least four years managerial experience in sales in  FMCG concern or service industry organization.
  • Demonstrated Prior experience in developing sales plans, sales strategies, and developing route to markets and growth plans is required.
  • A record of achievement in meeting sales goals, achieving targets against set performance goals and budgets
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills and the ability to adjust quickly to changes in market conditions and the competitive environment.

Job Title: Sales Agent - Mombasa

Job Purpose / Summary:  The sales representative will work cooperatively with outside sales, other members of the distribution team, as well as the entire organization to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.

Key Roles:
  • listening to customer requirements and presenting Products appropriately to make a sale;
  • maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails;
  • cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business;
  • responding to incoming email and phone enquiries;
  • acting as a contact between Wananchi Group and its existing and potential markets;
  • negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales;
  • gathering market, Territory and prospective triple play customer information;
  • Representing Wananchi Group at trade exhibitions and events under the guidance of HOD and or Team Leader..
  • negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers;
  • challenging any objections with a view to getting the customer to buy;
  • advising on forthcoming Zuku product developments and discussing special promotions;
  • recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales Leader , or entering into a computer system;
  • reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets;
  • gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements;
  • making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations;
  • feeding future buying trends back to the company for decision making purposes;
  • Attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Sales & Marketing
  • Computer Literate
  • 1 year plus in sales or customer service

Job Title: Telesales Agent  
 
Department: Sales and Marketing

Location: Nairobi 

Employment Status / Type:
 Contract 

Position Reporting to:
 Telesales Manager

Job Purpose / Summary:
 The telesales Agent position is responsible for making telephone calls to potential customers to generate sales and promoting Wananchi Group products and services in the market.

Key Roles:
  • Qualify new sales leads
  • Contact prospective customers to present unique Zuku proposition
  • Identify key customer decision makers and evaluate  customer needs with a view to sale,
  • Identify and generate new opportunities by raising awareness of our products and services through the phone,
  • When appropriate, fix an appointment for product demo or send quotation
  • Support the sales organization by dropping “Just about to sign clients” to account managers for sales closure.
  • Phoning specific customer to follow up on quotations and get the orders in.
  • Achieve daily call targets
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Sales / marketing or ICT related fields
  • A proven sales or Telesales experience acquired in a FMCG or ICT environment
  •  Excellent Telephone etiquette
  • Business level written and verbal English –Hindi as an additional language(s) is a bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of competitor’s products and activities.
  • Self-motivated approach and proven ability to talk with a range of people.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue & activity targets
