Member, County Alcoholic Drinks Regulation Committee

Terms of Service:  Contract of Three Years – Renewable

A member of the committee will serve for a period of three (3) years and will be eligible for re-appointment for a further and final term of three (3) years.

Functions of Committee

The committee shall, under the general supervision of the Executive Member be responsible for:-
  • Receiving and hearing appeals from decisions made by sub county committees
  • Performing such other functions as may, from time to time be assigned to it by the Executive member
Requirements for appointment

A person shall be qualified for appointment as a member for county Alcoholic Drinks Regulation Committee, if the person;
  • Has a Bachelor Law (LLB) degree from a recognized institution
  • Possess a valid practicing certificate
  • Is an advocate of the High Court
  • Has been admitted as an advocate of the high court of Kenya;
  • Has at least five(5) years post admission experience;
  • Is a member of Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and in good professional standing;
  • Meets the requirements of chapter six of the constitution; and,
  • Is a resident of Busia County

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Riding a motor boat ambulance on Lake Victoria;
  • Carry out routine checks on the boat’s cooling, oil, electrical and braking system;
  • Detecting and reporting any malfunctioning of the boat systems;
  • Maintenance of work tickets for the motor boat;
  • Ensuring the security and safety of the motor boat on and off the lake;
  • Ensuring that the boat has enough protective gear and that all passengers put on the safe gear;
  • Carrying the authorized number of passengers;
  • Ensuring the safety of staff, patients and supplies that are on boat and
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the boat.
Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the position one must:
  • Be a Kenya citizen;
  • Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D+ or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Possess a Coxswain Certificate from Kenya Ports Authority or from any other recognized institution;
  • Provide a First Aid Certificate from a recognized body;
  • In possession of a valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police and
  • Have at least three (3) years experience

Supply Chain Management Assistant III

Senior Supply Chain Management Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To head the procurement unit in the department;
  • Ensuring compliance with the Procurement and Disposal Act and Regulations;
  • Planning and coordinating of supply chain activities in such areas as procurement, warehousing, distribution, fleet management;
  • Arranging the disposal of idle/obsolete stores and equipment;
  • Undertaking market surveys and research;
  • Preparing procurement plans; undertaking store inventory and store control;
  • Processing departmental tenders;
  • Liaising with the County Tendering Committee on Procurement matters;

  • Served in the grade of Supply Chain Management Officer (I) or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • A Diploma in Supplies Management or its approved equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Computer application packages;
  • A management course lasting not less than three (3) weeks; OR
  • A bachelor degree in any of the following:-commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management, Marketing, Law or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
  • Be registered with Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other recognized international professional body and

Assistant Public Health Officer III

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Mobilizing, sensitizing and advising communities on matters related to environmental health;
  • Referring health cases to relevant health facilities;
  • Carrying out immunization;
  • Identifying environmental health issues at community level;
  • Organizing community health days to advice communities on common public health issues;
  • Collecting and maintaining up to date records of services rendered;
  • Assessing the needs of the community;

Clinical Officer (Anaesthesist)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Giving Anaesthesia to patients due to undergo surgery in a theatre;
  • Attending to emergency cases in the High Dependency Unit and Intensive Care Units;
