The Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Kisumu. NRHS is dedicated to improving the reproductive health of men and women. 

NRHS has several research projects related to HIV prevention and reproductive health. 

Additionally it runs support groups for PLWHA and Key Populations, and works with the Ministry of Health in scaling up voluntary medical male circumcision as an HIV prevention. 

NRHS wishes to recruit for the following position for its Prepex for Positives Research Study

Job Title: Data Entry and Management Clerk
 

Location: Kisumu
 
Reporting to: M&E Manager 

Purpose:
 Responsible for data entry and management of data gathered within and outside the clinic.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes research study and patient documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies; returning incomplete documents to the study staff for resolution as necessary.
  • Enters clients’ data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
  • Tests clients and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data; reviewing output.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and adherence to protocol.
  • Communicates with study coordinator, Research Director, Principal Investigator personally or electronically to ensure adherence to protocol and integrity of data.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed.
Qualifications and competencies
  • A diploma in Information Technology or data management or equivalent professional level
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a research setting.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office, and Stata or its equivalent.
  • Experience with RedCap software desirable
  • Prior GCP and Human subjects training is desirable
  • Proficiency in touch-typing for rapid and accurate data entry

Job Title: Recruiters / Tracers
 

Location: Kisumu
 
Reporting to: Study Clinical Officer

Purpose:
 Carry out & coordinate mobilization and tracing activities in the district
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with study team, develop and implement recruitment strategy for research study participants.
  • Provide recommendations for modification of recruitment and tracing protocols as needed, including narrative reports as requested.
  • Linking up and working together with various stakeholders in Kisumu County in the promotion of research study participant recruitment in Kisumu county
  • Assist in implementation of recruitment sessions at public places such as bus stages and beaches
  • Support the development of key messages and coming up with innovative ways of recruiting research study participants from the community.
  • Develop strong relationships with selected CBOs and work with them for recruitment of research study participants
Qualifications and competencies
  • A diploma in social work & community related studies or equivalent professional level preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a recruiter/tracer or community outreach worker.
  • At least 1 year experience in clinical research with VMMC mobilisation preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to speak and write English, Kiswahili & Dholuo
  • Prior Human subjects training is desirable
  • Good knowledge of Kisumu, its people and its environs

Job Title: Drivers
 

Location: Kisumu
 
Reporting to: Head of Transport

Purpose:
 Responsible for transporting study staff and participants as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ascertain that the assigned project vehicle is in operable condition
  • Diagnosis of  faults and reporting the same to the head of transport
  • Anticipation of vehicle needs to ensure optimal performance
  • Filling out of work tickets daily and ensuring that the  designated  vehicle is always clean and presentable
  • Ensure that fuel is obtained from and maintenance is done by appointed dealers only
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor or study coordinator
Qualifications and competencies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Dholuo, and Kiswahili
  • Impeccable honesty and reliability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good knowledge of Kisumu and its environs
  • Valid driving license class BCE
  • C- or  above in KCSE or equivalent
  • Certificate in  defensive driving
  • Must be 25 years of age and above
  • At least 5 years experience accident free
  • Must be a resident of Kisumu
