We are founded on ethical principles and justice. We are currently recruiting, competent and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of Credit Controller.

Summary Position Role: Reporting to the Finance & Investment Manager the key role of the Credit Controller is to ensure that the monthly statements are produced accurately and on a timely basis, and that the credit control function is well managed.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that brokers/agents observe the statutory credit period; collect all premiums due.
  • Scrutinize and dispatch monthly premium statements to all brokers, agents and direct clients, latest by the 10th of the following month.  Handle correspondence from brokers, agents and insurance companies relating to premium collection.
  • Pay commission to agents and withholding tax to the Income Tax Department on a regular basis and within the statutory limit.
  • Preparing withholding tax certificates on commission for brokers, agents and facilitative reinsurers and the necessary return to KRA.
  • Liaise with underwriters on matters relating to premium collection and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure that the personal ledger control account is reconciled every month as a control measure before statements are printed.
  • Prepare monthly reports relating to debt collection and liaise with our legal debt collectors where debt collection has been referred to them.
  • Ensure that returns required by various authorities are submitted as required.
  • Propose changes to the current computerized system and follow up with it to ensure that the approved changes are implemented.
  • Ensure that monthly statements are produced and dispatched by the 10th of the following month.
  • Ensure that the statutory credit period is adhered to
  • Produce a monthly report for discussion by the credit committee.
Job Specification

The ideal candidate should be a well motivated, energetic individual, with good interpersonal relations and excellent negotiation skills.

Eligible candidate should possess a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting), must have qualified as Certified Credit Controller in addition to CPA(K) or equivalent with at least 5 years experience in a busy commercial environment preferably insurance industry.
