Overview of Position:
 The Payroll Accountant holds a critical role in providing high quality and timely payroll services to the Company. 


The role entails working closely with the Human Resources Department, Finance, and managers to ensure that clear payroll data, control and process cycles work to guarantee accuracy, confidentiality, timeliness and audit trails of payroll functions and reports.

Responsibilities
  • Understand the business and specific operations that generate payroll data, tracking and reporting  payroll inputs and outputs into the NAVISION SYSTEM for various types of staff
  • Drive payroll calendar and ensure that payroll inputs reach on time as per agreed format
  • Detailed review of payroll inputs for Academies catering to nearly 5000+ EMPLOYEES
  • Timely processing of accurate and complete payroll
  • Lead posting of payroll entries and ensuring that appropriate monthly reconciliations in a timely manner Prepare detailed variance analysis for each payroll cycle for all types of payouts
  • Preparation of statutory returns and ensuring compliance to all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, payments and submission deadlines
  • Lead the preparation of payroll audit files for compliance, internal and external audits
  • Attend to staff queries and reporting needs of payroll services within standard confidentiality limits
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Degree in bachelor of commerce accounting option
  • Intermediate levels of ACCA/ CIMA or CPA K  with excellent academic record and A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS work experience in a sizable payroll environment (1000  STAFF PAYROLL)
  • High integrity with natural ability to maintain confidentiality and presence of mind when handling payroll and staff matters
  • Excellent awareness of statutory compliance issues in Kenya and general awareness of labour law and practices
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Excellent hands on MS office suite skills and proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (NAVISION)
  • Confident and flexible team player with ability to work closely with non-finance team members within a multicultural environment
  • Proactive and self-motivated with excellent communication skills; highly organized and responsive
  • Ability to plan and manage own workload in order to harmonize work flows and meet tight deadlines
