1. Safety Equipment Technician III

Job Group ‘G’

Leave Allowance:

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
This is the entry and training grade in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer.

Duties and responsibilities will entail: repairing parachutes, aircraft safety belts, motor vehicle canopies and fabricating loose covers for both aircrafts and vehicles; packing parachutes/dingys for use by soldiers; storing and maintenance of parachutes; maintaining upholstery and fabrics sewing machines and carpet cleaning machines; undertaking interior finishing which include carpeting, upholstery, repairing and modifying seat cushions/covers; and determining the strength of repairing
materials.

Requirements of Appointment
 
For appointment, a candidate must have:-
  • Craft Certificate Grade III in any of the following fields:- Cushion Making, Clothing Technology, Textile Engineering, Upholstery and Carpeting, from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
2. Aircraft Surface Technician III

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer. 

Specific duties and responsibilities will involve:- sanding aircraft surface prior to repairing or after primer application; masking of windows/under screens, markings and other parts to retain their originality; applying primer to sanded areas; spray painting of the aircraft; applying primer and spray finishing to aircrafts; sand blasting and applying grip system on an aircraft; repairing fiberglass components; and masking of strips and other vital configurations while the aircraft is under repair.

Requirements for Appointment
 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  •  Craft Certificate Grade III in any of the following fields: Aircraft Surface Finisher Technician Course, Spray Painting or Automobile Refinishing from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
3. Armourer (Trainee)

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
This is the entry and training grade for Armourers. 

An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
 maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and workshop; stripping and overhauling small arms; carrying out minor repairs; and assembling of small arms.
 
Requirements for Appointment
 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
4. Ammo Technician (Trainee)

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
This is the entry and training grade for Ammo Technician. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. 

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: maintenance of ammo workshop/storehouse; painting, stenciling and labeling of ammo boxes/containers; packaging of ammo; maintaining ammo records; storage of ammo tools; and maintaining ammo components.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (Minus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
5. Assistant Occupational Therapist III

Leave allowance:

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
This is the entry grade into the Occupational Therapists cadre. 

An Officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
 
Specifically, duties and responsibilities will involve: assessing and formulating patients treatment plan; maintaining records and data relating to patients; collecting data for operational research; sensitizing the community on occupational therapy issues; and preparing periodic reports.

Requirements for appointment
 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
6. Radiographer III

Duties and Responsibilities
 
This will be the entry and training grade for Radiographers cadre. 

An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of an experienced officer. 

Specific duties will include: providing radiographic services to the patients; processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients; ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies.

Requirements for Appointment
 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) with grade C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences or Physics/Physical Sciences and C- in Mathematics; and
  • Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.

7. Laboratory Technician III

Duties and Responsibilities
 
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. 

An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior and experienced officer.
 
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment; packaging, transporting, submitting, processing and preserving test samples; receiving and recording submitted samples; preparing laboratory reagents; documenting and receiving samples for analysis; and disposing laboratory waste.

Requirements for Appointment
 
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
  • Certificate in any of the following fields: Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution.
8. Registered Nurse III

Duties and Responsibilities
 
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes; providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood illness (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery, providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs; referring patients and clients appropriately; facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans; maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and collecting and compiling date.

 Requirements for Appointment
  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya; and
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
