Job purpose: This position is to champion for, coordinate, support and advance tenets and goals of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers’ Textile and Apparels Sector.

Duties
and Responsibilities;
·
Understanding the industry (textile and apparel) in terms of
requirements and gaps
·
Accurate interpretation and representation of members policy
issues in various stakeholders forums
·
Mobilize members (on need basis) in regular meetings in order to
get their positions on various topic
·
Prepare position papers on key issues affecting the sector on
need bases
·
Research and analysis of data related to the sector
·
Regularly communicate to the sector on key emerging issues
·
Respond to members inquiry in a timely manner
·
Liaise/ network with all key stakeholders and partners on sector
issues
·
Give updates on AGOA related matters such as KAMEA export updates
·
Provide oversight on KAMEA operations
·
Maintaining up-to-date information on textile and apparel sector
·
Represent KAM in all textile and apparel sector related forums
·
Develop and maintain a network of business contacts and key
stakeholders
·
Develop and implement marketing and c communication strategies
for the sector.
·
Develop and Maintain a well updated sector contacts and profile;
·
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO from time
to time.
Qualifications / Person Specifications
·
Must demonstrate Experience in the textile and clothing
industry;
·
Degree in Clothing and textile or related / relevant field;
·
Must be a creative thinker/ innovative problem solver
·
Must demonstrate high level of technical knowledge and strong
practical skills such problem-solving skills and decision-making ability;
·
Must be a team player and demonstrate ability to collaborate
with other functions;
·
Must possess strong negotiating skills, report writing and
presentation skills;
·
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and to switch between
different tasks as required;
·
Must demonstrate good organization skills and ability to work
with minimal supervision and meet targets and deadlines.
