In this position, you will oversee all group bookings and provide the General Manager with analysis of impact to occupancy, average rate and Revpar. 

Evaluate and influence market mix which would stimulate additional revenue without increasing costs. 

Also, you need to establish hotel pricing levels in all segments and be responsible for the daily room inventory management process throughout all channels.

The challenging role will collaborate closely with hotel sales and hotel management to establish and implement pricing, yield, and selling strategies for InterContinental Nairobi, based on market factors and company guidelines. 

You will monitor competitor strategies and data; maintain understanding of the dynamics of the local market and demand generators and present appropriate action plans to management. 

Monitor and communicate fluctuations in occupancy to operational departments so they can effectively manage staffing requirements and increase efficiency.

Drive operational analysis and pricing decisions throughout all revenue streams within the hotel. 

Participate in budget processes and lead monthly forecasting. 

Qualifications
 
Ideally, you'll have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration or a relevant degree.
  • Advanced Certification in Revenue Management is highly preferred.
  • An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Revenue Management.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of effective hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization and selling strategies, and ability to determine which concepts to apply in given market conditions.

Finance and Business Support Manager

The hotel is currently looking to recruit a Finance & Business Support Manager. 

This challenging role reports directly to the Director of Finance and Business Support and will lead all members of the Finance Department, provide guidance to the finance team and other Department Heads, interact with hotel's legal counsel, insurance companies, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business and to provide business support.

The successful candidate will assist the Director of Finance & Business Support in providing financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of the hotel's financial strategic Plan, Budget, hotel and department's KPO's, Cash flow projection and performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits/remittances, as well as the monthly preparation of actual results.

Qualifications
 
Ideally you'll:
  • Have prior experience of Finance Manager or a related position for 5 years.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Commerce (or equivalent).
  • A masters degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA(K)/ACCA qualifications preferred as well as excellent knowledge of hotel accounting software(s) like Sun systems, Opera, Fidelio.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, proficient skills for written and oral communication in English
