The Chief Manager, Consultancy & Partnerships (CM-CP) shall report to the Managing Director

Job Summary:
 The role of the CM-CP is to develop and manage a successful Consultancy Business Unit by planning, executing and timely delivery of Consultancy Assignments, Professional Trainings and Commercialising Intellectual Capabilities resident in the University. 


He/She will provide objective advice; develop Business Networks, co-ordinate Experts and Specialists with the aim of creating value, maximising growth and improving overall business performance of the unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Providing Strategic direction for the Consultancy Strategic Business Unit
  • Sourcing for New Consultancy Projects
  • Identification, sourcing and coordination of resource persons for Consultancies and Trainings
  • Identification and Marketing of  Professional  Short Course  trainings
  • Development of Consultancy Business Proposals and Presentations to Clients
  • Growing Consultancy Networks, Partnerships and other Growth Opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with Statutory and  Regulatory Requirements
  • Ensure Compliance with the MOUs and Contracts by both the Clients and Consultants
  • Instituting Sound Systems  and Controls in the Consultancy Unit
Job Specification:
  • Masters Degree,  preferably in  Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Project Management or Equivalent
  • At least five (5) years hands on experience in leading and managing consultancy
  • Proven experience  in Government and Development Partners Proposal Guidelines
  • Experience with Donor/ Development Partners funded Projects
  • Proven  record of Proposals Writing/Research and Project Management
  • Ability to develop Budgets and Financial Proposals
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Hands on Experience in monitoring and evaluation of Projects

Assistant Manager Bookstores

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Implementation of the developed Growth Strategies and Processes to achieve the desired cash flow and profitability
  • Implement the Bookstore’s Annual Plans and Budget to support Business Goals and Objectives
  • Direct and Supervise Staff to achieve the set Performance Targets
  • Implement Bookstore’s Credit Administration
  • Implement Bookstores’ Sales Strategies and Activities
  • Carry out market research and price surveys
  • Coordinate shop floor activities and timely servicing of customer orders
  • In- charge of customer care operations
  • Analysis of daily sales and preparation of Management reports
  • Any other duties assigned by the Bookstore Manager
Job Specification:
  • A degree in Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 3 years management experience in a busy commercial organization.
  • Experience in Sales/Marketing will be an added advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision to meet deadlines
  • Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Computer literate

Cooks - Arziki Restaurants

Reports to: 
 Kitchen Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities
 

The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Working with the Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs and special customer needs
  • Preparation and production of high quality food that meets the desired customer satisfaction.
  • Provision of efficient service of food orders and as per specifications
  • Preparing and cooking food in adherence to  standard recipes and menu given by the Head Cook
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety at work.
  • To account for all production resources provided by the Head cook and issued from the stores
  • Proper handling and use of kitchen equipment as provided for by the Head cook and the Manufacturer.
  • Provision of world class customer service to the customers.
  • Any other duty assigned by the head cook.
Job Specification:
  • Certificate in food production from a recognized Institution
  • Possess minimum of two years   practical culinary experience in a 3 or 4 star hotel/restaurant
  • Able to work long hours
  • Computer literate
  • Good food  presentation skills
  • Innovative.

Waiters – Arziki Restaurants

 Food and Beverage Supervisor

Duties and responsibilities      
 

The duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Receiving customers and providing timely service of food and beverage
  • Maximizing sales  and achieving targets set by the supervisor
  • Taking food and beverage orders and service of meals to customers.
  • Providing product information to customers on menu items,  cooking methods and ingredients making recommendations upon request
  • Providing excellent customer service and reporting customer concerns/complaints to supervisors for action.
  • Accounting for crockery and equipment used in the restaurant and outside catering services
  • Bill settlement
Job Specification:
  • Certificate in food and beverage &sales from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience as a waiter/waitress in a  3 or 4  star restaurant or hotel
  • Good interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Up selling skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer literate
  • KCSE C-
  • Ability to work under pressure& long hours.
