Vates Corp is seeking Duty Watchkeepers who will be expected to respond quickly and appropriately to incidents. 

This requires a high level of competency in the identification and assessment of risk as well as a high degree of commitment to retaining up to date knowledge of the response and escalation procedures appropriate to the level of risk identified.
 

General Description: As a Duty Watchkeeper, you will be expected to work as part of a team in a variable shift pattern to effectively monitor, collate and respond, to provide incident support on a 24/7 basis. 


Your main aim will be to ensure that all electronic systems, processes and procedures meet service levels and the needs of the business, in support of client operations.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily collation and processing of current information and the production and dissemination of alerts by SMS and email.
  • Daily oversight of all tracking platforms and operations
  • Monitoring the IT systems used within the Operations Centre and input data as and when required.
  • Keeping accurate records of operations.
  • Being part of a team providing a 24/7 support to clients. This will involve relaying information requests and events to the appropriate authority.
  • Performing any other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
  • Education of University Degree Level, may accept Diploma level with experience
  • Knowledge of control room operations and proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Earth/Maps and other business platforms
  • Knowledge of communicative and tracking technology
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters in a transparent and comprehensive manner
  • High personal standards of time management, presentation, and integrity
  • High level of attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Flexible and responsive to events
  • Able to demonstrate discretion and engender trust
  • Able to work in a variable shift pattern with hours that may vary according to operational need
  • Excellent Kiswahili and English language skills, knowledge of Somali, French or Arabic a plus
  • Current Kenyan Certificate of Good Conduct
