We are an engineering &
construction company in Kenya and are looking to recruit a qualified and
motivated individual to fill the following position in our Nairobi
office.
Accountant
Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, execution and monitoring of all accounting needs so as to ensure that all deliverables have been met.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the various books of accounts, ledger
postings, bank reconciliations and records; and fixed assets register
- Preparation of all financial reports including
income statements, balance sheets and other key performance indicators
reports.
- Preparing of cash flow forecasts, management
of cash flow and variance reports.
- Prepare projects budgets expenditure and
variance reports.
- Prepare payroll and submission of statutory
deductions.
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual VAT,
custom duties and other taxes returns.
- Preparation of annual budgets and reforecast
as and when required.
- Maintaining the accounts for all suppliers and
efficient processing of supplier invoices.
- Tax Management including VAT, PAYE and
Corporate Tax ensuring Compliance at all times.
- Preparing accurate and timely management
accounts on monthly basis.
- Assisting in routine audit functions and
ensuring adequate compliance with laid down operating procedures with
special emphasis on strengthening internal controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum CPA (K). Bachelors Degree in Finance
or Commerce option will be added advantage.
- Must be proficient in Quickbooks and other
accounting packages.
- Minimum 5 years experience working in medium
to large organizations.
- Experience in working in audit environment
will be added advantage.
