General Purpose of the Job
 
The Catering Assistant is responsible for cleaning of the kitchen and utensils for effective and efficient running of the kitchen.
 
Responsible for quality food preparation and serving
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working with the cateress to achieve minimum cost through the control of food wastage
  • Serving of meals and ensuring correct portion control
  • Handling and operating kitchen equipments with care to avoid accidents and damages to these and personal injuries.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of hygiene are achieved in all areas of the kitchen as personal grooming standards
  • Helping with room preparations for meetings and ensuring that they are clean, prepared, and labeled correctly for ease of identification
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

General Purpose of the Job

Responsible for management of the overall Cathedral Audio & Visual systems.

Participate in the identification of equipment for purchase and custody of all audio visual equipment.

The Technicians sets up, operates, maintains and repairs equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment support the I.C.T department

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the Cathedral audio & visual systems (during church services, weddings, funerals.)
  • Produce CDs for sale and maintains a C.D. catalogue
  • Maintains the inventory of the sound systems/AV equipment and stock on audio & visual Equipment to work with IT Assistant for work involving laptops, PCs and computer software and hardware.
  • Rehearse with all users of audio/visual equipment with a view to ensure optimum use.
  • Prepares the sound and multimedia – media projector system for use in the Cathedral, Auditorium, halls and during mission / outreach
  • Ensure sound system and multimedia equipment is in serviceable state of repair.
  • Ensure the sound produced is of good quality.
  • Train and supervise Audio & Visual volunteers to manage equipment.
  • Give a monthly report of the sound systems performance.
  • Oversee electrical repairs and management of generator and perform minor repairs.
  • Assist the I.C.T Officer in the I.T department
Any other duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Higher National Diploma in sound production / electronics
  • KCSE with C plain
  • At least 2 years experience in sound system in a church or production environment.
  • Born again Christian – preferably Anglican
  • Computer literate and able to repair and program
  • Valid driving license will be an added advantage.

His/her responsibilities will include day to day setting up, operating  and strategic development of audio visual equipments, systems and services including repair and maintenance.

Position Requirements
  • Degree or HND in an ICT related field, or equivalent professional experience. (Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting or communications will be an added advantage)
  • Must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production.
  • Knowledge of sound, camera and lighting techniques is essential. Familiarity with editing equipment and software is desirable but not a must
  • 2 years Experience of working with or audio visual equipment/or PC hardware and software in a technical role in a busy studio, church , school or such institution s
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time and have good hearing and eyesight
  • Ability to learn about specialist software.
  • Excellent communication skills. Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a born again Christian – preferably Anglican
  • Age; Above 27 years.
  • Mature person of high integrity and pleasant temperament and cheerful personality

Job title: Cathedral Administrator

The job holder will report directly to the Provost who is the CEO of the Cathedral. 


The incumbent will play the lead role in advising the church on matters of Human Resource Management and general administration in the Church Office. 

His/her responsibilities will include day to day execution of the Cathedral HR function and management of the affairs of the Church by enforcing the HR policies, strategic policies and procedures, preparing and executing Cathedral training budget, enhancing a conducive work environment and facilitating church meetings that fall within the docket of the Administrator.

General Purpose of the Job
  • The position is responsible for the management of the Human Resources function, ICT and all general administration in the Church Office.
  • Advisor to the Provost, the HR and committees on matters of Human Resource and ICT respectively.
  • Works in line with the Strategic Plan of the church  and for the achievement of the same
  • Facilitates a conducive working environment and upholds  the integrity and image of the church
  • Safeguards the church assets and ensures sound internal control systems are maintained
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Job title: Finance Manager

The job holder will report directly to the Provost who is the CEO of the Cathedral. 

The incumbent will play the lead role in advising the church on matters of Finance, Procurement and Investments. 

His/her responsibilities will include day to day effective and efficient coordination of the finance functions of the Cathedral, through maintaining sound financial reporting systems enforcing financial management strategies, policies and procedures. 


Preparing and executing Cathedral budget and monitoring expenditure. Ensuring compliance with statutory and taxation requirement and facilitating the Parish Church Council.

General Purpose of the Job
 
The position is responsible for the management of the functions of Finance, Procurement and Investment in the Church Office and schools.
 
Facilitates Council activities and Management meetings and is secretary to the management meetings touching on the aforementioned functions
 
Advisor to the Provost, Cathedral Treasurer and Finance & General Purpose Committee on matters of Finance, Procurement and Investments
 
Works in line with the Strategic Plan of the church  and for the achievement of the same
 
Facilitates a conducive working environment and upholds  the integrity and image of the church
 
Safeguards the church assets and ensures sound internal control systems are maintained

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with the policies, procedures, processes and guidelines in the management of the church activities and advising on the same; summary of key tasks include;

Finance
  • Providing and interpreting financial information;
  • Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends for the church and schools;
  • Analyzing change and advising accordingly;
  • Formulating strategic and long-term business plans for the church and schools;
  • Researching and reporting on factors influencing church performance;
  • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk;
  • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities;
  • Managing the Church financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems;
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out;
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as KRA;
  • Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines;
  • Managing budgets;
  • Arranging new sources of finance for the Church debt facilities;
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  • Reviewing the Strategic plan and ensuring adherence to the same

Cathedral Procurement
  • Ensuring Procurement of goods and services at the best price and value
  • Streamlining processes in order to cut wastage and unnecessary costs
  • Ensure efficient service delivery by the suppliers
  • Develop Service Level Agreement with all suppliers and employee to ensure timely delivery service
  • Contract management and negotiation
  • Ensure compliance with the Cathedral Procurement and Disposal policy
  • Ensure efficient service delivery for outsourced services
Investment and General Administration
  • Recommend the most appropriate and secure avenues for investment of surplus cash balances, and to review all investments on a regular basis
  • Advice on the best ways of enhancing value, utilizing, developing or letting any of the church properties.
  • Attend and participate in the church management committee meetings including the schools, ministry, endowment project and related Cathedral activities
  • Ensure timely distribution of management reports and minutes as far as Finance, Procurement and Investments are concerned.

  • Upholding Cathedral Image and character in all products and services
Position Specification
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Finance option) with CPA(K) – MBA in finance will be an outright advantage
  • Over 8 years relevant experience in a medium size organization at a senior level.
