Assistant.

As our Logistics Assistant, you will work closely with TIS functional teams to include and not limited to the program and grants team, the program grantees and vendors to support the above-referenced program objectives.
The work of Grant Logistics Assistant requires detailed knowledge of Somali culture, highly developed collaboration and networking skills and the exercise of discretion, judgment, and personal responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration,
International Relations, International Development or appropriate field.
- Minimum two (2) years relevant experience in a
similar position, with specific focus on local/international procurement,
clearing & forwarding, Somalia laws and regulations, fleet management,
insurance and inventory/stock/supplies management, development and
control.
- Experience with event organizing and planning
- Previous experience with UN, international or
local NGOs is required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with senior government personnel, colleagues, donor
partners, private sector, and other actors that may be involved in the
overall implementation of the project
- Ability to maintain integrity in performing
assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and
work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously
within a multicultural team.
- Functional competencies required include
effective communicator, successful negotiator, creative analytical
thinker, active learner, team player and cross cultural facilitator
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Internet
applications, Microsoft Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English and Somali is required

Qualifications:
- University degree in Mass Communication,
English Language/Literature or its equivalent with a minimum of 3 years
relevant work experience in international development, sociology
media, or communication. OR
- Diploma and a minimum of 5 years relevant work
experience in international development, research, sociology, media or
communication.
- Proven work experience in media, multimedia
reporting and political journalism. Ability to conduct political analysis
is highly required.
- Proven experience with grant monitoring and
reporting methods and systems.
- Familiarity with focus group discussions and
facilitation a highly desired.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with deadline-driven writing
assignments in English.
- English and Somali language fluency required.
Strong English writing skills required.

- University degree preferred, such as in
development, project management, social work, conflict management or any
other related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional
experience in the field of governance and development, or conflict
management, especially in international organizations such as NGOs.
- Minimum of two years specific experience in
the field of development with project design, implementation and
monitoring.
- Experience in community participation and
consensus-building projects.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of
government structures and current development planning in Somalia.
- Demonstrated capacity to understand and
analyze the national, regional, and local political context in Somalia,
and especially Bay.
- A drive for results in a high-volume,
quick-paced programme environment; creativity and analytical capability
required to respond to evolving programme demands and current events.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
suite.
- Written and spoken fluency in English and
Somali is required.
- Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to
work within and build a team environment; ability to provide both detailed
and strategic analysis; excellent communication and negotiation skills;
ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a diverse work
environment.
