Sales Assistant

Job Ref: HR-SA-07-2015
Job Summary: Reporting to the Area Business Partner, the job holder will be responsible for sourcing new businesses and servicing existing clients to maximize revenue generation and collection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that magazines and Newspapers are visible and available through prominent displays and well stocked within outlets;
  • Ensuring that outlets allocated within territory meet sale target; 
  • Providing information on potential opportunities within the territory to the Area Business Partner;
  • Ensuring that all returns are sorted and ready for collection on a weekly basis;
  • Engaging in order setting for publications in assigned region; 
  • Liaising with the territory Distributor and direct agents to maximize market opportunities;
  • Ensuring that promotion posters are well displayed in selected outlets; 
  • Resolving customer complains; 
  • Compiling daily, weekly and monthly reports on time; 
  • Providing relevant market intelligence.
Knowledge & Skills requirements:
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Merchandising; 
  • Experience in sales will be an added advantage 
  • Good understanding of the market and the potential for sales growth; 
  • Proven computer skills.
Courier Business Executive
Job Ref: HR-CBE-07-2015
Job Summary: The job holder will be responsible for selling, planning, coordinating and supervising Customer Service Distribution Assistants and Agents in their areas, meet agreed individual courier revenue targets and ensure prompt debt collection.
Specific job responsibilities 
  • Sourcing of courier business in line with the courier sales strategy; 
  • Maximizing volume and revenue in cash sales and credit sales for increased profitability;
  • Maintaining good customer relations through regular customer visits and resolving customer complains;
  • Ensuring prompt debt collection within the agreed credit period;
  • Identifying and sourcing Courier Sales Agents;
  • Providing relevant market intelligence; and 
  • Compiling and forwarding the daily, weekly and monthly sales and collection reports to the Distribution Operations Manager.
Knowledge & Skills requirements: 
  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience for Diploma holders; 
  • Entry level position for Bachelor Degree holders;
  • Report writing skills.

Vacancy: Business Executives
Job Ref. HR-BE-07-2015
Reporting to Business Managers for direct and agency, the ideal candidates will have the overall responsibility of initiating and executing sales while promoting and developing effective advertising solutions to clients. A retainer will be provided to the successful candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Selling advertising for Radio;
  • Generating ideas for new sales and expanding the market opportunities;
  • Establishing contacts with and developing long term relationships with new clients;
  • Maintaining positive and productive relationships with existing clients;
  • Preparation of and adherence to individual sales plans in alignment with the organization’s goals and business objectives;
  • Meeting targets and KPIs;
  • Contributing to the team and functioning within the organisation’s corporate culture and values.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
  • University Degree with at least 3-5 years’ experience in sales and marketing from media or FMCGs;
  • Excellent prospecting skills with an orientation for results;
  • New business to business sales experience preferred with recognition as top performer
  • Ability to work independently, within a team and under pressure;
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills;
  • Superior communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong understanding of lead generation;
  • Ability to cultivate long standing client relationships.
