Our client is in the automotive industry and is an importer and distributor of light and medium duty trucks, parts and other key components from the far east. 

As part of their expansion plan in Kenya and the wider East African region, they are looking for a dynamic, experienced and results oriented individual to fill the position of General Manager.
 
The Role: Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction are demonstrated at all times,strong business acumen to maximise on profits and  have the ability to set high standards with a vision and direction for the business. 


The Ideal candidate should already be working in a similar role and have the knowledge to increase and develop strategic partnerships with his/her current experience within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the sales, service and parts departmental teams in line with the set objectives.
  • Monitor team performance against agreed performance targets, working with managers to review progress and develop action plans where appropriate
  • Maximise profitability through the sale of the trucks, associated products, parts in targeted market territories and ensure  long term sustainability of the business and the brand recognition across the territories
  • Ensure that effective processes and systems are in place – especially where the activity concerned has a very direct impact on profitability or customer satisfaction
  • Control cash flow, stocks and assets at a level commensurate with profit requirements and satisfactory return on investment.
  • Work with managers to monitor staff training needs, and ensure that training and development plans are in place to meet them.
  • Underpin with a comprehensive strategy, business and funding plans.
  • Ensure the full understanding of the long term strategy and vision amongst the team,
  • Promote team working and communication across all departments
  • Ensure that the business operates within its legal responsibilities framework, including the operating agreement with the manufacturer.
  • Forge and cascade an organisational culture throughout the whole business which reflects local individuality.
  • Work with colleagues across the departments to investigate and resolve customer complaints
  • Continuously review and improve sales processes and systems to deliver increased levels of customer satisfaction whilst maximising profitability
  • Recruit, develop and retain a senior, high calibre management team.
  • Work in partnership with the manufacturer to contribute to network and brand development.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and establish a customer retention rate to match brand targets.
  • Establish and manage the on-going funding across the business.
  • Ensure that all management accounting and reporting processes are robust and transparent.
  • Shape and manage through the Heads of Departments a comprehensive and cohesive infrastructure for lean systems, processes, premises and people.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business Administration/Marketing or related field. MBA will be an added advantage
  • 7+ distinguished years in a senior management position in a commercial organization
  • An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual
  • Must possess strong organisational and management skills
  • Must show evidence of their successes within their current role
  • Be able to efficiently work under pressure and very target driven
  • Focused, ambitious and keen to apply your knowledge to all aspects of the business
  • Excellent personal, marketing and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work under pressure within a busy environment

Job Title: Sales Manager - Motor

Our client is in the automotive industry and is an importer and distributor of light and medium duty trucks, parts and other key components from the far east. 

As part of their expansion plan in Kenya and the wider East African region, they are seeking to hire an innovative and results oriented Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruiting and training a team of sales representatives
  • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets
  • Devising a marketing plan and setting sales targets for the team
  • Monitoring the work of the team and encouraging them to meet their set targets
  • Advising the team on any problems identified and keeping them motivated
  • Setting up incentives and bonus schemes
  • Compiling and analysing sales figures
  • Collecting customer feedback and compiling market research information
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets
  • Representing the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events
  • Maximising new business development opportunities
  • Overseeing a sales team
Qualifications
  • A degree in Business/Commerce/Marketing or related field
  • Good knowledge of the motor industry
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sales will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a senior sales position is imperative.
  • She/he should be ready to play a pivotal role in achieving the sales targets and generate new revenues for the company.
  • She/he must have a proven track record of closing sales and meeting sales targets.
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise workloads
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Enthusiasm,Initiative, drive, ambition and self-motivation
  • A good understanding of budgets and report writing
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Good business sense
