Our Busy Restaurant situated in Nairobi CBD is currently recruiting the following positions.


1. Restaurant Supervisor 

Key Roles

  • Train and  Motivate fellow team members
  • Have a great ability to up sell and talk to customers
  • Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
  • Evaluate and observe workers for work procedures to ensure quality standards
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
  • Perform personnel actions, such as hiring and firing staff, providing employee orientation and training, and conducting supervisory activities, such as creating work schedules or organizing employee time sheets.
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
Skills, Qualifications and Competences 
  • Diploma / Bachelor Degree in a hospitality related course.
  • At least 3 years work experience in a busy restaurant.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure
2. Storekeeper / Stores Clerk

Position Description:
  • Responsible for issuing commodities for consumption by other departments.
  • Responsible for making purchase orders and reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Receiving  and inspecting  all incoming restaurant materials and reconciling with purchase orders
  • Responsible for day-to day checking of the storage facilities for upkeep and hygiene
  • Responsible for storing of both food & beverage and operational stock.
  • Following standards for issuing and receiving stock within the stores
  • Coordinating  with the Finance Officer on operational control and restocking levels
  • Any other business as may be assigned by management
Skills, Qualifications and Competences 
  • A diploma in Store keeping or procurement from a recognized institution
  • 3 years work experience in the hospitality industry 2 of which should be in the stores management in a busy restaurant.
  • Experience in use of stock management software and stock cards
  • Good organizational and communication skills
3. Cashier 

Key Roles
  • Receive and process all payment methods for the restaurant sales
  • Settle all guest checks in the computer system and maintain accountability for all financial transactions.
  • Process all customer bills and issue them with ETR receipts
  • Make payment to suppliers and maintain proper payment release records.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of point-of-sale and manual systems and procedures.
  • Set up and organize work station with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; maintain cleanliness at all times.
  • Handle customer complaints with follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
Skills, Qualifications and Competences 
  • Qualification in Accounting or a Hospitality Course, Diploma or Certificate level accepted.
  • Ability to communicate satisfactorily in English with customers, management and co-workers, to their understanding. 
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to compute mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to input and access information into the point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and think clearly in a noisy environment with high pedestrian traffic.
  • Six months prior experience in same or similar position in a busy restaurant.
4. Finance and Administration Assistant
 
Key Roles
 
Finance
  • Ensure income received is properly accounted for and transactions are correctly captured
  • Routinely reconcile sales record and flag any discrepancies to the management
  • Tally all daily sales receipt with the cash point report to flag any missing sales or unpaid receipt
  • Ensure expenditure incurred is properly authorized;
  • Manage procedures in place to provide for a sound internal control system
  • Ensure financial information is timely, comprehensible, relevant, and reliable
  • Responsible for accounts receivables and accounts payable,
  • Responsible for payroll and tax processing (VAT, Catering Levy etc).
  • Ensure that all statutory deductions are remitted in a timely manner (NHIF,NSSF,PAYE).
  • Coordinate the external audit in a timely and effective manner.
  • Set an example to colleagues on standards, work ethic and professionalism
  • Accurate book-keeping, bank reconciliations and fixed assets accounting
Administration
  • Manage staff database
  • Orient new staff
  • Manage proper leave records for all staff including off days taken
  • Register all new staff for statutory requirements – NSSF, PIN, NHIF etc
  • Maintain proper attendance records
  • Ensuring all staff have valid health certificates to work in a restaurant
  • Ensure that all licenses are renewed and in a timely manner ie city council,pulic health MISK etc
  • Any other business as may be assigned by management
Skills, Qualifications and Competences 
  • Finance, Accounting and Management qualifications
  • At least 3 years relevant experience
  • At least CPA 2
  • Diploma in Business and Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
  • People management skills
  • Objective mind
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Numerical skills
