Finance Director Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Vision Fund Kenya Limited is a fast growing financial service company and an investment of the World Vision Kenya. 

We wish to recruit a highly competent, proactive and self driven person to fill the position of:
 
Finance Director
 
As part of the Vision Fund’s Leadership Team, the main purpose of the job is to provide financial leadership, spearheading financial management, control, compliance, liquidity management and forward planning for finances in line with the company overall operations strategy and within the local and World Vision International regulations.
 

The position is stationed in Nairobi and reports to the Chief Executive Officer, with occasional local and international travel
 

Specific areas of responsibility:
  • Facilitate development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate financial policies, standards and procedures;
  • Offer leadership in development of an overall business plan that includes the branch targets and projections.
  • Provide operational financial support and guidance on budgets and budgetary control & Facilitate update and maintenance of all policies relating to financial management, financial controls and risk management
  • Preparation and interpretation of financial reports; & Managing overall work process of the finance unit by ensuring effective work assignment, supervision and staff development to ensure the availability of a competent and well-motivated staff;
  • Liquidity management in a multi-bank, multi-currency system and the appropriate level of assets and liabilities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, appropriate treasury management and capital adequacy
The ideal candidate MUST 
  • hold an MBA with concentration in Finance, 
  • have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business and Finance, and have five years of relevant experience as CFO or Financial Manager on financial institutions. 
  • ACCA or CPA –K holder is very important consideration as well as proven experience in IFRS, Treasure Management, Accounting and Internal Controls, Planning and Budgeting, Funding and preparation of fund requests, ALCO and financial risks, regulations and regulatory environment as well as strong management skills such as leadership, initiative and be results oriented. 
  • Having work experience in a Financial Institution and 
  • Knowledge of Sun system will be an added advantage.
