Job Title: Credit Manager
Reporting To: Group Credit Director
Location: Nairobi
Job Purpose: Accountable
for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of
a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the
assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of
optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensuring collection of outstanding balances
and report on debtor’s status
- Monitoring the credit granting and updating
process
- Monitoring open orders in business partners
account
- Preparing and circulating daily cash status
report
- Conducting credit analysis and rating of
customers
- Validating customers’ statements
- Updating approved product prices in the system
promptly
- Maintaining the corporate credit policy
- Recommending changes in the credit policy to
senior management
- Creating a credit scoring model
- Managing customer credit files
- validating the staff’s credit recommendations
- Personally investigating the largest customer
credit applications
- Personally visiting the largest customers to
establish relations
- Managing the corporate financing program
Key Qualifications, Skills and
Essential Attributes
- Bachelors’ degree in a related field
- CPA (K) / ACCA
- At least 3 years credit experience in a busy
commercial environment
- Strong analytical, planning, communication,
and problem solving skills
- Self driven and assertive personality
- Must be a person of integrity, with team
leading/playing and attention to detail abilities
