Accountant Job in Kenya

Our client who is a leading, creative, strategy and design company is looking for a passionate and talented Accountant to join their team. 

The accountant will primarily be responsible for maintaining the books of accounts, financial and regulatory reporting, maintaining and improving accounting systems and processes.

The Accountant will specifically be responsible for the following:-
  • Verifying of supplier invoices and LPO’s   i.e. Check for authorization, authenticity, etc and preparing for payment;
  • Data entry to accounting software (QuickBooks);
  • Supplier account reconciliation and payment processing;
  • Preparing proposals and quotations;
  • Maintaining petty cash and records of its expenditure;
  • Bank statement reconciliation;
  • Monthly statutory remittance i.e. VAT,NHIF and NSSF ;
  • Preparing weekly debtors’ and creditors’ lists;
  • Preparing of periodic management reports e.g. Monthly P&L;
  • Verifying card and M-Pesa transactions;
  • Preparing Payroll and computing commissions for the sales team;
  • Filing and record keeping for the management;
  • Preparing and maintaining the budget; and
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
The qualified candidate should have the following qualifications
  • Degree in Finance or Economics;
  • CPA preferred (CPA II minimum or equivalent);
  • At least 2 years experience in general accounting, preferably in a brand/design/advertising/marketing firm;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • Thorough and impeccable attention to detail
  • Keen to learn how the ever changing design industry works
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision;
  • Knowledge of Quick books accounting software;
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet & word processing office software;
