Project Management Office - Head
 

 
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the PMO Head is to drive client-centered project management processes for the Group.

This will involve improving the consistency, predictability, efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s project delivery capability and provide leadership in best practices and standards to ensure quality projects are delivered to clients on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Group projects’ execution and ensure they are all on track towards meeting various clients’ requirements
  • Undertake project planning through development of robust project plans for all client assignments
  • Employ use of project management software/tools in day-to-day activities in managing diverse projects
  • Oversee sub-contractors’ work and meet them regularly to ensure they adhere to laid down standards and guidelines and monitor their progress towards achieving project objectives
  • Ensure that operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project interface with clients, project teams and technology
  • Oversee project costs and make sure they are well managed, monitor profit and cost sheets for each project.
  • Develop robust project team structure, job descriptions, policies and procedures, standards, frameworks and practices.
  • Manage project teams and all resources effectively to achieve best results for Group projects
  • Develop project quality control practices and guidelines and ensure that quality standards are adhered to and enforced.
  • Manage payment collection from a project management point of view.
  • Manage department and projects communication processes to ensure effective and efficient flow of information to relevant stakeholders
  • Undertake risk management, including risk assessment strategy and policies for Group projects
  • Report to the Group management and clients on achievement of project objectives and milestones
Key Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ICT/Project Management.
  • Masters Degree in Project Management
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Higher Diploma in Business Administration/Management
  • Training in project finance
  • 10 years experience in busy IT/Engineering environments
  • 5 years experience in Project Management
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in project management
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making
  • Ability to lead a geographically distributed team
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training sessions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
