About Action Africa Help International: Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Project Accountant for the Somalia Country Programme. 

The Project Accountant, El Wak, is responsible for ensuring that project accounts are managed effectively according to AAHI and donor financial policies and procedures. 

The job holder works with the Project Manager and Country Finance and Administration Officer prepare periodic financial reports as required. 
  
Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, regional organisation, working in East and Southern Africa to improve the lives of livelihood-challenged communities. AAH-I has country programmes in Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia. 

It brings over 20 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. 


More recently, it has expanded its activities to work with other marginalised communities, including pastoralist communities and communities in urban slums.
 
The Project Accountant, El Wak, will report to the Country Finance and Administration Officer for Somalia and will be a member of AAH-I’s Somalia Country Programme. 

The post is based in El Wak and will be for 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications
  • CPA2 or equivalent
  • Understanding of computer applications in respect to accounting, budgeting and cash control. 
  • As a minimum, this would include an understanding of MS Office & financial software
  • A good command of both written and spoken English
  • High degree of integrity and analytical skills.
Desired
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, or the equivalent;
