Microfinance Credit Officers Jobs in Kenya

A fast growing Microfinance is looking for hardworking, result oriented individuals to work as Credit Officers from its Muranga branch.  

The individuals will be allocated regions as follows:  Kigumo (To cover kirere, Kangare and Muthithi markets) and Kenol (to also cover Kabati and Kagunduini markets).

Key Responsibilities
  • Through field contact undertake program marketing and encourage new potential clients to seek MCL financial services
  • Makes appraisal visits to group members / individuals in their business and residential. No loan is disbursed without business visit.
  • Answer  client questions and helps them complete loan application forms and ensure all necessary loan processing documents are verified and attached
  • Process loan applications by verifying necessary information and make recommendation for loan processing for the customers who have met the minimum lending parameters as per the company policy.
  • Ensures repayments are made as per the loan schedule and the payment is done through Metumi Capital pay bill or bank accounts. For the clients who have not made payments, ensure that this is followed up and report tabled and discussed with the Branch manager / or Head of Business on the same day.
  • Regularly tracks upcoming payments and reminds the clients on the repayment.
  • Periodically visits businesses to assist clients with technical advice, answer questions and verify the economic standing of the enterprise. You should know all the businesses of your clients.
  • Ensure that reports are made on time and targets set are met.
  • Perform any other related duty as may be assigned by the Head of Business and or his assignee.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a c+ in KCSE
  • A diploma or a degree in any relevant field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confident and resilient personality
  • Ability to listen, understand and give advice
  • Goal oriented at an individual and team level
