Postal Officer

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Undertake all postal duties pertaining to counter, delivery and dispatch of mails.
  • Issue and pay money orders, postal orders and agency services.
  • Sale stamp, acceptance and delivery of registered item
  • Collect registered bag for openers and clearance cages and enter details on balance sheet
  • Maintain and balance P150,P127 and P1 books
  • Responsible for opening new files , filling work and maintenance of all official files in records office
  • Deal with amendments to list of post offices and rule books as they are issued from time to time
  • Prepare returns for incoming services and air mails parcels and submit to the user departments
  • Perform Postmaster duties an class 3 office
  • Collection and delivery of EMS items
  • Handle registration items at registration cages
  • Weight and compute mailing cost of letters, parcels based on type, weight and destination
  • Perform other duties assigned by controlling officer.
Qualification & Skills
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCPE) C Minus and above
  • Certificate in Business Administration / Management or any other relevant disciplines
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Must be between 24 and 30 years
Job Title: Drivers 

Department / Section: Logistics and Facilities Management

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the work ticket is duly signed prior to start of a journey.
  • Help in delivery of urgent mail
  • Custody of daily records of vehicles.
  • Generate vehicle records weekly and monthly.
  • Any other job assigned by the controlling office
Qualifications
  • KCE Div IV or mean grade of D (Plain)
  • Valid driving license/BCE minimum.
  • Certification of driving by a professional body (AA of Kenya etc)
  • 5 years relevant experience.
  • Be a team player.
  • Passed the Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers;
  • Certificate of suitability test for drivers
  • First Aid Certificate from a reputable institution preferably ST. John’s Ambulance.
  • Must be between 30 and 35 of age.
Job Title: Motorbike Riders
 
Department / Section: Operations & Customer Service

Main Duties
  • Ride and deliver/collect postal items
  • Maintain the motorbike
  • In a presentable clean state.
  • Check engine and gear box oil level as specified.
  • Verify correctness of all tyres’ air pressure as specified in manufacturer’s manual and assess tyres’ tread, wear, evenness and damage.
  • Ascertain the serviceability of all lights, horn, breaks, and accelerator and ensure the brakes and clutch systems are working properly.
  • Ensure correct levels of fuel and two stroke oil.
  • The number plates are secured properly.
  • Traffic ordinance markings are securely embossed.
  • Confirm validity of road license, insurance cover and all trafficators
  • Regular cleanliness of bike.
  • Ensure compliance to proper traffic rules governing road usage in major towns.
  • Ensure paramount safety of motorbike and official items at all times.
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the controlling officer.
  • Perform pre-start checks before commencement of any journey
  • Advise supervisor when bike is due for service
Job Title: Bus Drivers
 
Department: Logistics & Facilities Management

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive official motor vehicles
  • Carry out regular vehicle checks as specified
  • Maintaining vehicle in a presentable and clean at all times
  • Ensure that vehicle defects are reported in time
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is fueled
  • Maintain good customer practices
  • Take care and responsibility of assigned vehicle
  • Provide vehicle records i.e. mileage, fuel drawn etc when required
  • Maintain and update of work ticket
Qualifications
  • KCE Div IV or mean grade of D (Plain)
  • Valid driving license/BCE minimum.
  • Served as a driver for long distance passenger bus a minimum period of not less than 7 years
  • Holder of PSV License
  • Be a team player.
  • Duly tested by NTSA & Authorized to drive at night
  • Passed the occupational test 1 for drivers
  • Reference from 3 referees
  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance result
  • Must be between 30 and 35 of age.
