Position: Credit Control Accountant (6
Months Contract)

Reporting to: Head of Credit Control

Role Purpose: Perform debtors’ reconciliations and engage customer for collection of debts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform various debtors’ reconciliations to
ensure balance outstanding is well supported, documented and acknowledged
by customers.
- Perform debtors’ follow-up via emails,
telephone and visits & ensure timely payment of reconciled debts.
- Ensure all disputed amounts are fully
supported, resolved with customers’ and where credit notes are to be
issued ensure they are timely processed through the system.
- Negotiate with customers’ debt settlement plan
and payment proposals.
- Ensure bad debts are well reconciled before
hand over to private debt collectors (PDC’s).
- Follow up customers for timely submission of
allocation schedules and receipting of payments.
- Participate in preparation of proposed bad
debts write off for approval by management and preparation of various
monthly debtors’ reports
- Participate in vetting of customers applications;
ensuring compliance to various vetting requirements and advising customers
where requirements have not been met.
- Undertake other credit control assignments as
directed.
Academic Qualifications
- Min CPA II or a related accounting course
- Business degree in accounting/finance/banking
- Min two year experience in credit control and
debt collection, account payable, auditing, banking.
- Experience in computerized accounting,
knowledge of receivable/payable reconciliations
