Position: Chief Finance Officer

Company profile: Our client is a Social Enterprise that brings quality Coffee to global markets and using trade to empower farmers and the community.

They operate modern Coffee roasting and packaging facility in Uganda ensuring high quality process at source.

Their commitment is to sell the finest African agro-products bought direct from the growers at prices that ensure a profitable return on their harvest.

Main purpose of the role: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for overall financial management, contributing to the strategy development, business and operational management and providing leadership to the finance and administration functions of the overall organization. 


The company trusts that their expertise will be a valuable asset in achieving the company long term growth plans and believe the organization offers an avenue for the consultant to grow professionally and personally. 
 
The candidate is required to demonstrate not only expertise in financial management in a diverse business environment but also be able to contribute effectively to strategy development, business & operational management and provide leadership to the overall organization.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • All aspects of financial matters including accounting, financial control, financial reporting, management reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting;
  • Development of an anti-fraud and a revenue assurance regime to avoid revenue leakage
  • Implementation and continued development of reporting systems, key performance indicators and accounting policies to enable effective business decision making and an adequate control environment;
  • Support the CEO in business decision making
  • Drive ongoing initiatives to maintain cost savings and ensure that the operation is managed on a least cost culture.
  • Negotiating and raising financing
  • Effective management of Tax and Treasury affairs
  • Ensuring due processes are maintained for corporate governance
Requirements of the potential candidates:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
  • Experience of over 6 years working in high growth environments with an operational focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the presence to quickly establish credibility
  • Highly computer literate with advanced computer skills and appreciation of complex IT applications and infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of building the Finance competency within a fast growing organization where they have been member of a management team;
  • Strong tax and treasury skills
  • Dynamic and resilient personality with the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and in a fast paced environment;
  • Mature personality with strong negotiation and communication capabilities
  • Fluency in English is essential for this role.
