manufacturer of steel and plastic building materials within East Africa.
Our head offices are situated about
6km outside Kampala city centre in Lubowa, along Entebbe road.
Roofings Group is looking for a
suitably qualified candidate to take up the position of Assistant Manager Accounts.
Job Responsibilities
Operational Duties
- Assist in development, monitoring,
implementing and reviewing of financial accounting policies, procedures
and processes to ensure risk minimization in the treasury function of the
company and its affiliates
- Managing the overall accounting data entry and
processing function, including review and posting accounting transactions
in the Accounting System
- Develop and manage master file information
(creditors, debtors, payroll, inventory, assets) on the accounting system
in line with the policies of the company and its affiliates and as well as
the contractual obligations of the company and its affiliates
- Manage the cash cycle of the company (debtors,
creditors and inventory) in a manner that ensures optimal resource
utilization:
- Manage liabilities and commitments within
budget constraints, including; recording, reconciliation and settlement
- Manage receivables due to the department,
including; the recording, collection, banking and write-off of
irrecoverable amounts in line with company polices
- Manage and advise management on the Economic
Order Quantities and Stocking Levels at all times
- Manage General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledger
reconciliations (including bank, debtors, creditors, payroll, suspense and
intercompany and interdepartmental accounts)
- Manage, Review and Ensure Accuracy and
Approval of the Statutory Returns for Payroll, Domestic Taxes and other
Levies as may be determined by Statutory Instruments from time to time
- Manage the issuing, recording, reconciliation,
replenishment, safeguarding, and accounting of petty cash
- Maintain statutory and other relevant
registers with supporting documents for the financial accounting function
- Analyse and interpret data in order to provide
financial management information for decision making
- Provide accounting and financial information
and responses to risk, audit, assurance providers and other stakeholders
as may be authorised by the immediate supervisor
- Manage the Financial Accounting section
personnel in a manner that fosters growth, motivation and ensures smooth
functioning of the Financial Accounting Function
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- BCom degree in Accounting or any other Finance
related field
- Intermediate/Advanced Computer Literacy skills
- ACCA, CPA, CIMA or other internationally
recognised professional accounting qualification.
Experience
- Atleast 3 years’ experience in a senior role
in Accounting & Finance functions.
- Experience in the steel industry will be an
added advantage.
- Experience with working on an Oracle based ERP
system will be an added advantage.
