Accountant of Indian Origin Urgently Needed in Tanzania

We are seeking to hire a qualified
and competent individual to fill in the position of an Accountant for our
Tanzania branch.
Accountant Job Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager
Finance in Nairobi.
The main the purpose of this role is:
- Overseeing the accounting functions of the
company.
- Budgeting, cash flow management, records
management and accounts analysis.
- Oversee strategic planning and implementation.
- Managing the accounting department including
the team and offer SAP training on a need basis.
- Supervising both supplier Reconciliations
& Payments in Time & accurate manner.
- Oversee Payroll management /Variable
Preparation.
- Oversee Accurate Bank and Cashbook
Reconciliations/Cash position/projections &Cash planning.
- Monitoring Balance sheet and Income Statement
account movements and ensuring that they reflect the correct balances.
- Ensuring all relevant account reconciliations
are performed and corrective actions taken in time.
- Oversee accurate Stock Reconciliations.
Monthly inventory reconciliation between the system and physical.
- Ensuring compliance with various legal
requirements regarding licenses, rates, labor laws and tax returns.
- Accurate and Timely
Management/Financial/Budget and Variance Reports.
- Developing an Appropriate filing System.
- Facilitating annual external audits in
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Assisting in the development and adherence of
current and long-term organizational goals and objectives as well as
policies and procedures for the organization.
- Ensure effective and efficient coordination of
all imports and exports transactions.
- Ensure accurate daily posting of accounting
entries in the SAP system i.e Journals, customers & vendors’ invoices,
assets acquisition & disposal, receipts and payments etc
- Daily variance analysis of products weights
between the standard weight and actual weight and ensure accurate daily
posting in SAP.
- Monthly closing of SAP FICO i.e Running of
assets depreciation, Recurring entries, foreign currency valuation, Bank
reconciliations and CO closing procedures.
- Regular analysis of the G.L to ensure accuracy
and timely correction of errors and proper adjustment.
- Monthly Activity prices updating (Plan the
Activity Prices, Overhead Percentage Rates.
- Modification & Quantity Based overhead
Rates).
- Year end closing & Opening of new year
(Document numbers, Assets and Co prices & numbers).
- Bear responsibility for the preparation of
Monthly management accounts and yearly budgets in line with the company’s
standard format.
Desired Education Background,
Experience, Competencies and Skills;
- We are only considering Kenyans or Tanzanians
of Indian origin.
- A relevant University in Finance or accounting
and qualified Accountant CPA (K) or ACCA.
- At least 8 years’ working experience and 5
years’ experience in a leading milk processing or a FMCG company.
- Excellent numeric and literacy skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and IT skills to cope
with intense usage of numerous systems.
- Commercially aware.
- 2-3 years Experience working with SAP FICO
module, knowledge in MM modules & PP modules will be an added
advantage.
- Ability to complete complex reconciliations
over high volumes of data.
- Ability to work accurately and effectively
with multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to detect, research and report data
inconsistencies and out of balance situations.
