Accountant Job in Kenya

The Kenya Medical Association SACCO Ltd (KMA SACCO) is a medium sized and rapidly growing financial institution for medical doctors, dentists and pharmacists in Kenya.

Our mission is to proactively mobilize savings and provide innovative products, services and solutions to encourage and facilitate investment in the healthcare sector.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy:
 

Accountant
 
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful will be responsible for the following duties:-
  • Ensuring compliance with existing accounting policies formulated by Board of Directors and in line with the International Accounting Standards
  • Ensuring timely and accurate recording of all transactions
  • Preparation of payments to members and other Creditors.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, monthly and final accounts and reports
  • Preparing and maintaining Members Personal Accounts.
  • Reconciling all check offs and other remittances with ledgers and member Accounts.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance to implement checks and controls
  • Performing Bank Reconciliations and other Account Reconciliation.
  • Any other duties as they arise and assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A mean grade of C+ and above or Equivalent qualification at O-levels.
  • A University degree in Commerce, Finance or any other Business related degree.
  • CPA III (K) or its equivalent
  • At least three years’ experience in a busy accounting office preferably in a financial institution.
  • Proficiency in computerized Accounting systems preferable Microsoft Navision.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with a track record of ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
  • Member of ICPAK
  • Diploma in Co-operative Management as an added advantage
  • Age 22-30 years
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer Proficient. Training in IT will be an added advantage
