They are venturing into the Kenyan market with a similar initiative and are seeking to recruit a high caliber, results-oriented and self-driven Import/Logistics Manager to join their team in the capacity below. 

Import / Logistics Manager 

Location: Nairobi
Industry: Retail

The ideal candidate should have worked abroad preferably in a similar capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administrates and manages import merchandise flow.
  • Organizes suitable flow from different  countries of sourcing
  • Set up procedures in coordination with finance team
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  • Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Negotiate transportation rates or services.
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies
Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of a Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar field
  • Excellent knowledge of customs rules and regulations.

Maintenance Manager 

Industry: Retail
The ideal candidate should have worked abroad preferably in a similar capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that store equipment are fully operational at all times.
  • Organizes adequate and timely  maintenance for all equipment
  • Anticipate technical risks by preventive maintenance plan
  • Maintain relevant documentation for store assets
  • Optimize the utilities consumption.
  • Advise store management team on equipment selection
  • Contacting service providers and contractors
Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of a Degree with one technical specialty (Electricity, cold systems etc)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a similar field

Decorations Manager 

Industry: Retail
The ideal candidate should have worked abroad preferably in a similar capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Offer to customers a good shopping experience by a good store aesthetic and relevant information displays.
  • Produce and Display decoration and store signage according to decoration book
  • Manage and follow up decorations supplies expenses according to budget
  • Propose creative ideas within Carrefour standards
  • Sourcing free or low-cost hardwearing and big statement installations and interactive artworks for the site and ensuring health & safety needs are met, including gathering proof of insurances where required.
  • Being resourceful and researching for suppliers of free or low-cost fabrics and decoration supplies.
  • Taking charge of measuring the site, identifying points of need, distributing supplies and managing decoration team to develop and dress areas. Must be willing to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of a Degree in Graphic Design or Advertising ( with some Graphic Design knowledge)
  • Extensive experience in a similar field and/or Advertising

Personal Assistant

Industry: Retail

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Arranges organizational issues related to business trips, meetings and appointments.
  • Prepares and modifies documents, reports, memos, presentations, emails, agendas …
  • Performs general and clerical duties.
  • Able to prioritize relevant interlocutors to meet with.
  • Manage the MD’s corporate calendar/email account and personal calendar/email account; including heavy coordination of meetings, urgent company matters, and priorities
  •  Plan all meetings and manage all travel arrangements and itineraries (including air, hotel, car, rail, special accommodations)

Receiving Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages store in/out merchandise flow according to company's standards.
  • Manages his human resources: recruitment, training, sanctions and rewards
  • Coordinates with store commercial team proper supplier delivery schedule.
  • Receives and returns goods according to commercial needs.
  • Ensure the quality of the goods received (hygiene and quality standards) in accordance with legal and company's standards.
  • Follows company's procedures and proposes adjustments if necessary.
  • Follows up qualitative and quantitative KPIs.
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
  • Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of a Degree in Logistics, Warehousing or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a similar field
  • Proven warehouse management experience
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
