Receivables Accountant Job in Kenya

Summary: Our client, Eldoville Dairies is one of the leading producer of dairy products as well as fruits and vegetables for local and export market. 

Formally established in June 1985, the farm grows organic vegetables in open field and green houses. 


The business is undergoing rapid expansion and would like to recruit a Receivables Accountant.

Job Purpose: To provide financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain up-to-date Invoicing system
  • Follow up on, collect and allocate payments
  • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Ensure cash accounts have nil balances and maintain a detailed accurate explanation of any balances.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Generate age analysis
  • Review AR aging to ensure compliance
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
  • Processing receipts, direct bank deposits, cheques and cash
  • Ensure prompt bank deposits
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Process adjustments
  • Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail or personally
  • Assist in Bank reconciliation
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Collect data and prepare monthly metrics
Qualifications and Experience
  • 1-3 years accounts receivable and general accounting experience
  • CPA section part 2 Section 4 minimum or equivalent
  • CPC qualification  an added advantage
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and  general book keeping procedures
  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures, general accounting principals and proficiency in computer software
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
