The International Committee of the

Risk Management Unit Secretary
(Part-Time)
Under the guidance of the Senior RMU
Officer the RMU secretary provides substantial administrative support to the
running of the unit and facilitates the flow of information between the RMU and
the other departments.
Main Responsibilities:
·
Prepares the paper work required for
contracts for consultants and files all necessary document to ensure fees are
paid in timely manner;
·
Maintains the unit’s consultant
roster; and
·
Travel Request Forms (TRFs): Fills
TRFs for RMU staff and consultants.
·
Ensures necessary administrative work
is implemented on time;
·
Knows, applies and complies with all
the administrative procedures linked to her/his work (time reporting,
settlement of working advances, etc.);
·
Proactively seeks opportunities for
personal development; and
·
Prepares venues for meetings and
training sessions;
·
Develops and maintains a pleasant
working relationship with colleagues and superiors.

Participates actively in internal
meetings.

Takes minutes of departmental
meetings and circulates these.

Translates documents from English to
Somali language and vice versa as required.

Performs various office works which
require good computer knowledge and secretarial skills (e.g. as typing of

Health Assistant
The Health assistant will support the Health Department operations and its evolution, and to ensure implementation and follow up of Administrative and Logistics processes for Somalia Health Department.
Main Responsibilities:
·
Facilitate general day-to-day office
administration and provide administrative support to all SOK Health department
staff to ensure that office activities are maintained effectively and
efficiently
·
Advise and assist other staff in the
areas of office management which includes filing and maintaining office and
stationery stock
·
Carry out administrative and HR
procedures to assist field staff, consultants and visitors [arrange flights
with Air Operations, process Travel Request Forms (TRFs) and liaise with
Administration staff to arrange accommodation and visa applications]
·
Channel all relevant information for
the department
·
Brief interlocutors and newcomers on
ICRC activities in general and administrative procedures for SOK Health in
particular
·
Report regularly to the Senior Health
Administrator about changes, problems and suggestions
·
Participate to internal meetings,
draft letters, takes minutes of meetings, arranges meetings and assists
visitors
·
Generate Requisition Orders (ROs)
under the guidance of the Health Program Managers
·
Follow-up on ROs with the field,
liaise with SOK Logistics Department ensuring good communication flow to ensure
medical consignments are tracked from point of order to delivery.
·
Track/follow up the dispatch of
Health/Nutrition supplies and equipment and ensure that packing lists are
communicated promptly to the receiver
·
Work closely and communicate with the
Health Field Officers (HFOs) team in their respective regions and programs to
ensure consignments are delivered and accounted for
·
Provide Logistic reports /summaries
as required on ROs status, dispatches and pending orders
·
Ensure all Logistics files are
maintained properly in respect to the given procedures and deadlines

The Field Veterinary Officer
implements the Animal Health Program in Somalia in line with the delegation’s
strategy as outlined in the planning for results and according to the framework
established by his superiors.
His/her main role is to carry out
assessment, select project beneficiaries, monitor and follow up, report and
guide the delegation on livestock sector issues.
He also supports the other Economic
Security programmes as required.
Main Responsibilities:
·
Carries out assessment, in relation
to Livestock programs in the area of responsibility in close consultation with
Livestock Specialist,
·
Produces assessment reports for the
institutional consumption and recommends way forward,
·
Implements the livestock activities
in the area of responsibility,
·
Conduct post implementation
monitoring using standard checklists and assessment forms as per the guidelines
of livestock specialist,
·
Prepare regular monthly progress
reports on the programmes under his responsibility as well as ad hoc reports
such as assessment and monitoring reports, project review/evaluation reports
etc. and contribute to the weekly operational reports,
·
Regularly conducts surveillance on
animal diseases, migration patters and routes, and climatic conditions and
reports any events to the livestock specialist,
·
Collects information on the programs
of other organisations that are working in the livestock sector,
·
Maintains the record and manages the
veterinary products in various locations, ensures quality storage and hand over
to relevant bodies (CAHWs, Associations, Ministries etc).
Minimum required knowledge &
experience:

University degree in Veterinary
science,
·
Good knowledge of the socio-political
environment of the Somalia, pastoralist system and livelihoods of Somali
communities,
·
Readiness to spend more than 75% of
the time in the field,
·
Fluent in English and Somali,
·
Stress resistant and ready to work in
adverse environment,
·
Ability to write project proposals,
monitoring and assessment reports,
·
Good computer skills,
·
Additional vocational training in a
humanitarian area and socio-economic development,
