HR Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

Our client an ICT / Telecoms company in Nairobi is urgently seeking to fill the position of a HR Assistant

The incumbent will work together with the HR team. 

The main task will entail provision of support and guidance to the management and all employees by championing the best HR practices and implement the laid down HR Policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities of this Role:

  • Staff attendance – Advise on attendance habits / tardiness (Lateness, absenteeism etc)
  • Annual leave management
  • Proper maintenance and update of personnel records
  • Processing of resignation / termination / dismissal letters to employees
  • Documentation of new employees
  • Ensure employees queries are attended to promptly and provide advice and guidance to employees on HR issues.
  • Recruitment and induction of new employees.
  • Implementation of approved disciplinary action
  • Monitoring timely renewal of seasonal contract
  • Liaising with Head of Operations on any staff appointments that are due for confirmation
  • Preparation and submission of ad hoc and regular reports (e.g. Leavers & joiners)
  • Any other duty that maybe assigned from time to time.
  • Must have a Bachelors degree preferably in HR
  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in HR. Experience in call centre operations will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Word and excel
  • Conversant with Kenyan labor laws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Member of a professional body
