Finance Manager Job in Kenya

Our client is one of the leading Real Estate and Property Development companies in Kenya. Incorporated in 2010 they are fast becoming the leading and preferred Real Estate Developer within their niche market. 

They have raised the level of performance expectations within the marketplace and are continually working to ensure the consistent growth of their reputation as the preferred Real Estate and Property Development Company in Kenya. 

They are seeking to fill the position of a Finance Manager (Gujarati or Hindi speaking).

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will be primarily responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls and compliance. 

This role is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the company financial strategies, and the direction and co-ordination of the activities of the Finance department.  
 

Key Duties
  • Formulate and implement the financial strategies ensuring that the processes and systems are in place for efficient capture of revenues and expenditures.
  • Responsible for the financial reporting process enabling efficient and timely production of the monthly and annual accounts and present the same to the Board.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure, discussing major expenditures with appropriate executives.
  • Monitor current assets such as stock holding, accounts receivables, bank and cash in line with planned working capital guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation in all areas of taxation; at the same time, ensuring tax efficiency for the Company.
  • Responsible for cash flow management.
  • Ensure underlying accounting records are accurate, complete and in accordance with latest GAAP and International Accounting Standards.
  • Oversee the requirements of external and internal audit in line with operational requirements to ensure that such audits are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review monthly operating reports for accuracy, completeness and major variances between actual and budget results.
  • Assist the MD on day to day adhoc operational matters
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Fully qualified Accountant- CPAK, ACCA Member
  • At least seven years experience in Finance, four of which should be in Senior Management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and managing accounting systems.
  • Effective presentation and written communication skills.
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good working Knowledge of international accounting reporting standard (IFRS).
