Forex Dealer
Overall Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Treasury the successful candidate will be responsible for generating revenue through active trading and management of the various treasury products while mitigating underlying risks, to ensure growth of the bank’s forex business on a sustainable basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Pricing of clients’ currency transactions as
requested by the Corporate dealer.
- Identifying and employ the most appropriate
currency trading strategy for the bank.
- Manage FX exposure and maintain bank balances
on deposit in foreign banks to ensure funding for foreign exchange
position settlement.
- Negotiate prices for purchase and sale based
on demand, supply, and stability of currency.
- Refer to international bank market rate to
determine foreign exchange rates.
- Establish local rates based upon international
bank rates, size of transaction involved, stability of market, and bank’s
balances available to fund customer requirements.
- Monitor FX positions and cover exposures and
funding requirements as per the bank’s policies.
- Monitor international bank market rates to
determine foreign exchange rates for the retail business.
- Keep up to date with market information and
monitoring trends in currency pairings.
- Assist the Back Office department with
settlement queries as required.
- Prepare reports as and when required.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree in Commerce, Finance, Banking or
other related subject.
- Be a member of ACI Kenya
- Four years treasury expertise in analysis and
trading in various forex market instruments
- Experience in foreign exchange interbank
trading.
- Expertise in use of Bloomberg, Reuters and/or
other dealing platforms,
- A Sound knowledge of business at both
corporate and industry level, along with a firm understanding of economic
principles, financial markets and instruments.
- Possession of an ACI dealing certificate will
be an added advantage.
Legal Officer
Overall Purpose: Reporting to the Company Secretary and Head of
Legal Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the
following:-.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret legal texts for the Bank and assist
management in interpreting and applying statutes, rules and regulations to
ensure compliance of the Bank.
- Participate in preparing and/or represent the
Bank in judicial proceedings regarding enforcement of laws, rules and
regulations.
- Protect members and stakeholders rights,
privileges and interests in intellectual property and other product
innovations, processes through patents and copyrights and take the
necessary action to protect and preserve such rights from infringement.
- Assist the Company Secretary and Legal Manager
in researching legal precedents, investigating facts, preparing legal
documents/reports/correspondence.
- Negotiate contracts, leases, formal agreements
and other legal instruments between the Bank and other parties.
- Facilitate effective and timely security
perfection.
- Maintain legal data-base of the Bank including
recording information on on- going cases for the Bank, monitoring of the
cases and liaising with the advocates and the business to ensure
successful completion of matters.
- Maintain an updated legal library.
- Review of legal forms and documents to ensure
they are appropriate for business.
- Provide support in planning and coordinating
the annual general meeting (AGM).
Qualifications and Competencies
- Holder of LLB degree from a recognized
University.
- Post-graduate diploma in Law and professional
qualifications such as CPS will be an added advantage.
- Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya in
good standing.
- Minimum three years experience in providing
legal services in a commercial environment.
- Strong communication, analysis writing and
presentation skills in both English and Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Relationship Manager, Government and
Institutional Banking
Overall Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the
successful candidate will be responsible for coordination and overall
management of deposits and other liability accounts for Government, Parastatals
and Institutional Banking.
Key Responsibilities
- To market and maintain new and existing
Central Government, County Government, quasi Government and other
institutional clients as well as market Consolidated Bank as a banking
partner among these institutions.
- To increase the Bank’s visibility among
institutions through an aggressive calling program, obtaining feedback,
recommending and implementing appropriate solutions in line with
procedures/policies to satisfy needs, improve satisfaction levels and
enhance service delivery.
- Focus on marketing and establishing key
banking relationships and partnerships with NGO’s, schools, churches and
other institutional clients to enhance wallet share and enhance
relationships.
- Manage portfolio growth for Corporate,
Institutions, Parastatals and Government Ministries and departments
ensuring that the bank maximizes its returns from the relationships and
clients remain completely satisfied.
- Drive and deliver exceptional sales targets by
identifying and meeting customers’ needs individually and as team.
- Grow current and fixed/call deposits account
business from assigned institutional relationships.
- Enhance customer retention and grow other
business lines contributing to overall bottom line through cross selling
other bank products.
- Building relationships by identifying clients’
needs, and achieve business targets.
- Manage, lead and develop staff
- Prepare month-end business report detailing
performance results.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Economics, Commerce, Business
Management or other business related subject
- Ten years of commercial banking experience, 4
of which should be in institutional banking and/or liabilities management.
- Knowledge of banking products
- Skills in sales, marketing and customer
service and liabilities management would be a definite advantage.
