Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) is a State Corporation established in 1986 with obligation to undertake forest research, generate and promote improved technologies for sustainable management, conservation and development of forest and allied natural resources.

The Institute wishes to recruit dynamic, result-oriented and self driven persons to fill the vacant positions below:

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures;
  • Perform general accounting duties: collect revenue, process payments, monitor revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets;
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reports;
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts;
  • Provide safe keeping of invoices, receipts and other accounts records;
  • Carry out regular stock takes and report accordingly;
  • Control of vote book;
  • Maintenance of debtor‟s ledger.
Requirements for Appointment
  • At least three (3) years in the grade of Accounts Assistant I or in a comparable position;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade “C” (C Plain) or its equivalent;
  • Part II of the Certified Public Accountant of Kenya or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting Option/Finance) or its equivalent; and
  • Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognised institution; Knowledge of Accpacc accounting system will be an added advantage.
