Asia, and the Middle East. Kenya is the 1st branch in Africa. They seek to hire
an all rounded accountant.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Management Accounts
- Ensure that monthly management accounts are
produced by the specified date.
- Check monthly management accounts for errors
and correct.
Monthly Accounts
- Ensure posting to general ledger is timely and
accurate
- Ensure statutory deductions are timely
prepared and paid
Accounts System
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of
computerized accounting system
- Full co-operation with Auditors and in
preparation of Annual report
- Support other staff in terms of understanding
financial and purchasing procedures for compliance
Banking
- Cash received from retirements are banked on a
daily basis.
- Analysis to be completed for banking and
attached to bank deposit slips.
- Filing of all bank reconciliation
documentation
Bank Records and Bank Reconciliation
- Ensure that all bank transactions are
accurately and timely processed into the accounting system.
- Get bank statements monthly with which to do
bank reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliation monthly.
Ordering
- Ensure that all orders are correctly
authorized.
- LPOs to be correctly filed
- Ensuring that items received are processed
correctly onto a Goods Received Note
- Ensure all goods Received Notes and
corresponding LPOs filed correctly
- Ensure that invoices are received for all
items received.
- Ensure that invoices received are correct
Payroll
- Assist on preparation of payroll
- Prepare and submit statutory returns
Payment
- Prepare all payment vouchers as per procedures
and batch together for processing into accounting system.
- Process all payment batches into accounting
system as per procedures.
- Ensuring that all withholding tax and VAT tax
payment are done on time
Petty Cash
- Responsibility for Petty Cash security
- Reconcile petty cash monthly.
- Ensure all petty cash vouchers signed for and
filed numerically.
- Petty cash Analysis completed daily and
prepared for processing into accounts system.
- Transactions processed daily into accounting
system.
Audits
- Assists auditors for the purpose of providing
supporting documentation and/or information on internal process that is
required for audit.
Budgets
- Assist in budget development and
implementation
- Assess appropriateness of budget submissions,
raising queries with budget holders where appropriate
- Using business knowledge, review and challenge
reforecast for trading subsidiary budgets
Skills and qualifications required
- Requires a BBA in finance, Bcom in accounting,
or related field.
- CPA finalist
- Requires5 or more years general accounting
experience.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of the
fundamental theories, doctrines, systems, principles, practices and
terminology of accountancy.
- Must be PC literate with knowledge of
computerized bookkeeping software, spreadsheet and word processing
software; spreadsheet skills must be sufficient to enable incumbent to
quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, statements, and/or
projections.
- Requires excellent organizational,
interpersonal, communications and management skills.
